I'm just hitting that weird spot of songs I liked as an 8 year old are getting play on oldies station. Then I think to myself these songs are 30+ years old and oldies stations in 2000s were playing 70s music.
I'm at the point now where I realize that my 80s music will be relegated to what 50s music is now and be pretty much unfindable on the radio.

If this weather keeps up I might have to break out the canoe.

The Madison lakes will have lots of open water over the next week. It had to be one of the shortest ice fishing seasons ever.

Keith Richards is proof that you can live a hard life and still live a long life. I'm guessing he has done more drugs than any 10 people on Cf added together.
50% of the drugs were formaldehyde and similar. His longevity is because he has been pickled. :D:D

Never been to one.
When I used to drive out to Virginia to see mom and dad I would stay at a Super 8 that had a Waffle House within walking distance so I ate there a few times. I just checked and the Waffle House s gone, and the Bob Evans that was right behind it is now a Sonny's BBQ

We thought about going to one, but we assumed it was a lot like Whattahellisthatburger...over priced and over rated.
They definitely aren't overpriced. Just simple breakfast food with a large choice of additions for hashbrowns:

  • Smothered — Sautéed onions grilled in butter.
  • Covered — Melted American cheese.
  • Chunked — Grilled diced hickory smoked ham.
  • Diced — Grilled diced tomatoes.
  • Peppered — Spicy jalapeno peppers.
  • Capped — Button mushrooms sautéed in butter.
  • Topped — Bert’s Chili, a combination of chili beans, Jimmy Dean sausage, tomatoes, and onions.
  • Country — Sausage gravy.
  • All the Way — All eight topping choices.
I like my hashbrowns smothered, chunked and capped. I'd like them peppered too but they slice the peppers instead of dicing them.

  • Informative

Breakfast is one of those things that's really hard to screw up. I can't remember the last time I had a bad breakfast. With that said, I really like Town Topic in KC for breakfast.

Place in St. Louis called Spenser's Grill that has the best hashbrowns I've ever had. I'm sure they start with the frozen shredded ones. They put like a 1/2 stick of butter on each order when they put them on the griddle. They start with mound of spuds bigger than a softball and when the butter melts down they smash the mound down and they get crunchy brown crust on the outside and then flip them over until the other side is the same way. Comfort food!!

For someone lactose intolerant, that sounds like pure hell.
