In 40 hours I'll be home in Minnesota again. Impatient to get outa here and back home. I am just not cut out for Iowa in anything exceeding 2-3 day periods. Smaller town Iowa tomorrow so it is going to get worse before it gets better.

Almost forgot...so there's this family that lives up the street from us, goes to our church...the dad struck me as a little weird...not like overly weird, just a little weird. So today, I'm heading off to work, and he's mowing his front yard with a push mower...wearing a pith helmet. Yeah..one of these:

I see nothing wrong with this.

He sounds like an adventurer to me. And yes, I of course have a pith helmet.

Yeah. Across the street from Whiskey River.

Used to spend a lot of time at both those places...Fridays at WR for lunch, Corner Pocket in the evenings for pool. I preferred Welch Ave Station, but they started letting guys play tables simultaneously so for the rest of us schlubs it was one, maybe two games on a given night.

We bought a pool table a few years back. No more quarters for us. :)

Not surprised that the first posts of the day are about poop although based on the last few days of purses, watches, and where to shop, I was thinking more:

I know I am probably the only one watching tennis, but it seems like Nadal has a record setting butt picking pace this first set. And 20 seconds to serve? He must take 20 minutes.

I remember watching Jimmy Connors in his last US Open. He went for the towel after every point. It was an evening match and as I recall it went well past midnight. It was the slowest tennis I have ever seen.
