Anybody else here old enough to remember when Dominoes did the 30 minutes or free thing, but had to stop because their drivers kept getting in accidents and killing people?

I thought it was like, the early 90s when they did away with that?

According to Snopes, yes:

In 1993, in reaction to multi-million dollar settlements arising from car accidents involving its delivery drivers, Domino's ended its delivery guarantee. While the pizza maker never admitted its drivers drove unsafely in their efforts to beat the 30-minute deadline, at a 1993 news conference Domino's owner Thomas S. Monaghan said the guarantee was being dropped in an attempt to fight a "public perception of reckless driving and irresponsibility."

Anyone that visits the Instate Rivals board knows what I'm talking about, that, while CyTwins's obsession with Iowa is creepy, but I'm so glad he's there. It's like any time a Hawk fan says something, he's there to bash it immediately. I love it.

I think the saying about mad dogs, Englishman and midday sun needs to be revised to iguanas, Boxstercy and the midday sun. Lazy vacation boy did not get out to run until noon central time. Hot out.

  • Number of other 60-somethings seen running = 0

  • Number of any age runners seen = 0

  • Iguanas on the path = 3

Did chat with a couple coming back from a bike ride. Asked if I was from Iowa (was wearing ISU running shirt). Told them no, was from Golden Valley, Minnesota. So were they. They live like 2 miles from me.

I like the creme & caramel eggs...but only one every 2-3 days. Way too rich. My easter go-to treat is Robin's eggs...they're basically Whoppers with a candy shell...

Reeses eggs and Butterfinger mini eggs are two faves.

Peeps are of the devil.

I've had two small world incidents here.

One was a dude that saw my Iowa State plate cover. Asked if I was from there because he was from Fort Dodge. We both graduated high school in 2001. He was a defensive tackle in football, I was an offensive guard, so I literally blocked against him all game and we both happen to have moved here.

The other was a girl that moved from Texas that I hired. In the interview I saw she was originally from a town 30 minutes from where I lived in Iowa and one that my niece's mom had grew up in. She actually knew the family of my niece's mom.

Strange coincidences.

I think the 30 minute thing is now a de-facto policy. You call and complain if your pizza is cold and they comp you a whole bunch of stuff to keep your business.
