Reeses eggs and Butterfinger mini eggs are two faves.

Peeps are of the devil.

I had a Brittany Spaniel that thought peeps were manna from Heaven. The only treat he liked better was Circus Peanuts (those nasty thickened marshmallow kind of orange, kind of peanut shaped things...). He was a very strange dog.

I've had two small world incidents here.

One was a dude that saw my Iowa State plate cover. Asked if I was from there because he was from Fort Dodge. We both graduated high school in 2001. He was a defensive tackle in football, I was an offensive guard, so I literally blocked against him all game and we both happen to have moved here.

The other was a girl that moved from Texas that I hired. In the interview I saw she was originally from a town 30 minutes from where I lived in Iowa and one that my niece's mom had grew up in. She actually knew the family of my niece's mom.

Strange coincidences.

When we first moved to Manhattan KS back in '79, I went to pick my infant son up from the nursery after the service in the new church we were looking at. The older couple volunteering in the nursery were very friendly, and very chatty. Turns out they were from Doss & Ingram, two tiny Texas towns close to the ranch where my father grew up. They went to high school in Kerrville with Daddy & his older brother. I mentioned their names to Daddy & he knew them right off. :)

The only fast/on time delivery I've had is Papa John's. Jimmy John's was slothfuly slow the one time we tried delivery. Same thing, we could've driven there and back and eaten 30min before our delivery ever got here.

Night two of six with no spouse. Last night I had a migraine so barely survived until bedtime. Tonight we have run one kid to practice, hit a store while we waited, took everyone to Target, went to the Bookmobile, came home and ate, and now am going to attempt 7:15 church. The littlest two don't go to bed until 9pm so in theory they should be okay, but sitting relatively quietly is not the 2yr old's strong point.

My pretend Grandpa (and Grandma) has those small world things all the time.

Their flight attendant on a flight in Alaska was the daughter of someone they knew.

His cousin was at Disney World talking to a person ahead of him. They say where they are from. The cousin says IL. The other guy says I know one person from IL and they had a funny name. Grandpa.

They have a rental/winter home in Tucson. So we were talking about the route the take one time and I mentioned that my penpal was in NM close to that route. We get more specific and I tell them the name of the ranch she lives on. They had driven by it every single trip for the past 30 years. So the next time through, they stop in and ask if my penpal was there. Penpal's mom was freaked out at a Santa-esque man asking for her 14 year old daughter. Then they're like "we're Cowgirl's grandparents!" They got pictures and everything - penpal called me right after they left and was like you are NEVER going to believe who was just here! (I didn't know they were going to stop in). So they met my penpal and I still haven't, haha.

They came with on my first visit to ISU. I met with the professor who became my advisor. Turns out he has family in IL too. The town next to grandparents. They go to church with his parents. My mom and I just rolled our eyes and laughed at that point because things like this happened pretty much anytime we took them anywhere.

Peeps are so gross. Right along with circus peanuts.

Favorite Easter candy is the Starburst jellybeans.

Circus peanuts are the kind of candy I won't have for a while, so I'll think they sound good. After eating half of one, I'm quickly reminded why I went so long without having one.

Not as small world as all of yours but here are mine.

Ran into some other guys from Iowa in the Manchester U.K. airport, they were even on my flight. Another coworker I was on that trip with lived in I.C. while his parents worked at the U. Waiting in line to get through customs in Manchester people by me were from Alburnett.

Our O.B. has family from Iowa that went to ISU. Our resident yesterday brother went to Grinnell.

My mom grew up on a farm outside of Garwin, Iowa. We have been in downtown Chicago and on the National mall and she has found people she knows from Garwin.

My parents saw a retiree cast member at Disney(MGM?) where his nametag said he was from Atwood, IN, a tiny neighboring town to my mom's hometown. Turns out he helped the gentleman/family friend my mom & aunt employed to farm the land they owned around my grandma's house.

The lady who lived across the way from my BFF in Omaha, and who would babysit the friend's kids often, said her brother lived in my "smaller" suburb of Chicago. He was the senior 1st chair trombone my junior year in HS.

I've been to Atwood. Or I should say, I've been THROUGH Atwood.

I bought some in Maui when I stayed there back in the beginning of January. Outside of the two I ate, I think the bag of them is still in my suitcase.
