I was running 6-8 a day with 10 plus on weekends a year ago, wind, rain, snow, cold. Actually, some of my most enjoyable runs were during NE Ohio lake effect snow squalls. I want to get one full marathon under my belt, but don't know if I have the time or the will.

Knees are a little sore. I'll settle for trimming down by the wedding. So begins the month without sweets and booze.

if you want some do in your living room circuit training workouts, let me know. The lady who did our workout class at work posted pictures and lists of easy workouts to do. Well, they're hard but easy to do at home. But sounds like you enjoy running. I fall into the "I force myself to do this because I like rum and ice cream" category.

00, I want to eat the muffins. They are supposed to be for work tomorrow. I did already 'test' one.

Oh, well....then...I hate to break it to you, Rev...ahem...you're the problem, not the smells.

Your ability to plan ahead and foresee this issue, and thus make a double batch, allowing for gorging tonight AND muffins for work, is the true source of the problem.

Don't blame the muffins, Rev...don't blame the muffins. Will somebody PLEASE think of the MUFFINS!?!?!?!?!

My only problem right now is that I don't have any beef sticks thawed, and I'm in the mood.

(but really, am I blaming the beef sticks....no, I am not...I take full responsibility for my PPP)

2.5 sounds pretty solid to me. I'm a bit afraid to get back into running. Probably die after two.

With the busyness of the work season, I hadn't gone to the gym since before Christmas. Just started going back last week. Thought it would be rough but am already back up to three miles a day. I was surprised at how well I got back so quickly.

Hey Rev...have you read any of the "Five Love Languages" books? Just finishing the one for parents about children. Have read and applied the one for marriages, but am learning some new strategies with the boys. Well, mainly the oldest, since he's just starting to show his primary love language, the youngest still likes them all equally...so Z's probably not near developing at that level, but it's a good read, and definitely fits in with a topic I think I've heard resonate in some of your comments, how 'discipline' can cause more harm than good, especially in certain forms with certain kids.

For example, although he's a little young (theory being that a true primary language doesn't form until about 5 or so) we're seeing the 4 YO (well, 4.5 if you say it in front of him, he's very insistent onnat) show tendencies of 'quality time' as his primary love language.

Two things we've changed:

First, he's not a morning-happy person, so school mornings have tended to be rush jobs of prodding him to keep moving to be ready to go while Mrs is rushing to get ready as well, and I'm just getting going with my late schedule and just trying to function/help. Obviously there's good mornings and bad mornings, but it seems that if it starts out bad, it gets worse. Well, on Monday, when I could go to bed at a decent time, I got up earlier and had my dressing, etc. done before he got up, so I could just sit with him while he ate and not just pass by and say "keep going, gotta go". It went pretty darn well, so if I can figure out a way to get up earlier, I am going to try that, but the math just don't work out as it is with a 2nd shift schedule.

Second, those times when he's just in a mood and really whiny, when he can't break out of it and goes complete meltdown (at home), we've tended to send him to his room to get it out/under control and then re-set with hug/talk/etc. and resolve the issue once he's calmed down, but it didn't seem to work well or feel right. In reading, if his love language is quality time, when he's upset about something and we do that, what he gets is isolation, not his love language. Working on alternatives that resolve the issue while still teaching that "I'm going to throw a fit now" isn't a proper response to something upsetting him (we really don't need more game loss threads, right?).

Anyway, rambling, I s'pose, but I think the love languages concept/model is a pretty worthwhile one...I know it works with me and the Mrs. when it's applied well.

We've been seeing little doggie footprints in the snow on the back deck, and around the house lately; figured someone's dog was being allowed to roam free. Nope.

Our fox is back!!! Yay!!! We saw it last night...buh bye ground squirrels that ate all my daffy and tulip bulbs last winter!!!

Btw - if you've never watched fox kits playing, you've really missed out.

We've also seen a trail from the culvert to the creek...looks like ma & pa groundhog are waking up. Wonder how many kids they'll be bringing out this year?

I am SO ready for the spring babies to show up...

00, I have read the first one ages ago. It would be good to read it again. I didn't know about any others, but I haven't paid attention to the author.

It sounds like a good idea to look into. Z definitely has days where she's happier with more cuddle time.

Sarcastic 00 would say that as the original book sales levelled off, they did other versions to keep the $ flowing, but with the kids' one, there's a co-author who is a kid specialist, and I did get something out of it.

Sooo....Boxster....since you've been taunting us from the sandy, sunny, southlands....

Mrs. 00clone got a big order from Shutterfly, and there was a coupon in there for $100 off a case at nakedwines.com....so I'm looking at cases of wine for like $60-$80.

So there...take that.

CF is still like all MBB angry this morning. Reminds me why I have never opted into the all angry political forums here.
