My daughter has been bugging me about seeing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Since it is PG-13, I figured I'd checked out IMDB to see what I'd have to worry about. It seems like the rating is mostly due to action/violence (and most of it is fantasy related) so I feel like I should be ok.

Amusing note: under the Profanity header it says "A couple of utterances of the word 'bugger'"

Lousy foul-mouthed Brits

My 9 and 7 year old nieces went. Their mom said that it was darker than they expected and there were a few moments that were really scary for the youngest.

That's good to know. The trailers must highlight the more light-hearted and whimsical moments. It looked a lot tamer than the last 3 or 4 Potter flicks.

Reading her FB post; her friends thought it would be MORE about the beasts.... I think the plot line is stronger for muggles knowing about them or not. At least that's the comments I read.

hmmmmmm the interwebz is making me wonder if going with a Highlander would be better because of the brand's reliability. But the same car is a good bit more $$$ vs the Sorento.

Hmmmm..

While Erik was researching whatever and CG was researching SUV's I went for a run in the freezing rain. I figure running in that means comeback is complete? Anyway, saw almost no one out, average one person every 2 miles. The bill of my trusty Eddie Bauer wetproof hat kept most of the hard rain from hitting me in the face...most.

I wonder if @cyrocksmypants has gotten any Minnesota winter gear yet? Must have da gear here!

The director is the same as the last three or 4 HP movies, and it's similar.

Just saw it yesterday. At the risk of sounding nerdy, it's he introduction to Grindewald, so it's going to be a little dark, but most of it is very light hearted. The only thing I can think of that would freak people out is there's implied child abuse (though not shown, just in the form of a kid taking off a belt and handing it to an adult) and there are a few deaths, but not uncommon to the HP series. If your kids watched Deathly Hallows, they'll be fine with this.

Fail! ;)

I'm waiting for the CG spreadsheet on cars/small SUVs.

I've had the slightest tickle in my throat show up momentarily the past two days. I do NOT have time to get sick.
Me neither. Going from bad to worse though. Running a fever of 101 now. When you consider my normal temp is 97.something, that's a bit up there. I'm starting to wonder if I waited too long for the flu shot (I'm scheduled for next week...). :(
