Act fast before Canada gets smart and closes their borders to gun crazed Americans. The good news is your family will be 10 times less likely to get murdered by gunfire if you live in Canada.

Thought that myself a few times today.
Unfortunately, nationality is not on their list of things to consider on their diversity statement:
"_________ encourages applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of ethnicity, race, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity."

Only kid released from hospital less than 48 hours was oldest. He never got the hang of breast feeding because he had low glucose at birth and was fed formula through a tube down his nose for a day. The only baby weighing over seven pounds in NICU. They still gave us the boot at about 36 hours. I might have had a hope of getting him to nurse if I had a chance to try it in the hospital for more than about eight hours or if he wasn't first baby. So I pumped breast milk that I gave him through a bottle for about 8 months.

He was readmitted at 10 days old for neonatal jaundice and stayed five days. He was readmitted at two months with RSV virus and stayed eight days.

I'm guessing subsequent babies got to stay longer because insurance companies figured out it saved them $$$ in the long run and that's all that matters to them. None of them were readmitted to the hospital.

Insurance has changed somewhat over the years. My ex was in grad school when oldest was born, and he had the wonderful student death insurance that estimated that it cost approximately $100 to carry & deliver a baby. We made payments to the hospital & the OB during the course of the pregnancy so that we would not have a huge balance after he was born. He was three weeks early (but a decent 6-10 weight), but any neonatal or continuous care in the hospital was considered to be a "part of birth" and was included under the $100 "coverage". Our pediatrician was a deacon in our church, we were the youth group leaders for his two older kids; we knew him pretty well.He came in & talked to us after examining our son, and said "I'm going to discharge him. I want you to take him home, then bring him straight to my office so that I can re-admit him." He spent four days under the bilirubin lights after being admitted back to the hospital. Because of the half hour in-between, the new admittance was considered a new "illness" (not that birth is an illness!), and was covered separately from the birth on the insurance. Thank goodness for Doc Frostad. :D

Thankfully, the position doesn't require knowledge of Canadian history, because my knowledge of Canadian history is much more likely to receive an "eh?" than an A.

I unfairly hold the entire nation in disgust because of my MIL. Also friend whose husband had a heart attack in Canada, which he survived, but died from staph infection he got in hospital. Also niece's baby daddy, who got six months in juvie for attempted murder of a guy he stabbed when he was 17.5; apparently it is clear sailing in Canada no matter how close you are to 18 when you try and kill someone.

So I give Canada a meh.

Haven't we covered that here before? They won in 1812, that's all you need to know. ;)

That's why you are safer in Canada, note the "attempted" part of your murder reference. They are amateurs compared to Americans.

Three drugged out teenagers with a knife got owned by the victim. I think the drugs made a difference. Baby daddy was the one doing the stabbing. Lot of racism there too. Never heard the "k" word for a Jewish person untiI I was 26 and in Canada and had to ask husband what it meant. But they think they are superior because they didn't have slaves.

Are the "Canadians" you speak of the same people I call Canucks?
Manitoba should be part of Montana.

In fact, the city (London, Ont) where this school is located featured a battle in that war.
I think it's roughly as far as the U.S. advance ever got.
They sell Desperados at the Beer Store in London so it is a good place.

They called me back into work because of this DR mess and of course I was at the bar. I swear no one has a clue how to do their job. We have had so many meetings on this and I don't think a single person made any effort at being prepared.

Good night of editing. Halfway through chapter 2 now, and most of the heavy lifting in that one is done.

Survived yesterday's hourlong fight with a sentence clause to determine which paragraph it suited best.
Tonight involved some difficult reorganization, a brief freakout by my laptop screen, and a moment where I said, "A good historian would have a nice transition here explaining why this guy was the choice to work with children," and then wrote that transition, because that would be a terrible failure at that point.

Becoming a good book, but also becoming a finished work (for now), which is just as important.
