Driving home after night games sucks. I am dead today and we are having extended family over. Need to start the ribs in the smoker soon.

@SaraV is your husband dead to the world today after covering both games?

Sorry, I was trying for a quick reply on my phone and it is a pain in the ass to do them on there. I think we all know who on this board is old enough to have lived in the era of the musketeers.

Rock smash! Smash puny musketeer pointy steel thing! Boxster make smash!

Abso-freakin'-lutely. Got up around 11ish, ate lunch, and is dozing in the chair in front of the Cubs game.

Luckily he has tomorrow off.

Edit: And I meant to quote wxman, but failed miserably.

Ah, good bike ride, hot and windy (gusting to 23).

But the lakes are always interesting on a Sunday afternoon and did have good “sightings”:
  • Mile: 5-6: Biked behind gal with the strong calves that had me looking at my own scrawny lower limbs with disdain.
  • Mile 13: Senator Al Franken and family at the Tin Fish lakeside café. Selfie tempted but he was having time with family, so nope.
  • Mile 13: Gal in hijab and blue jeans dancing to music some folks were streaming that can best be described as Mideastern dance funk. Was taking a rest stop and listened into about three songs. Good stuff.
  • Mile 14: 1955 Chevy Bel Air orange and white two tone.
  • Mile 15: 1963 Chevy Impala red convertible.

Sunday Night Observation and Opinion:

The new Toyota commercial I just saw, set to Queen's Don't stop me now/ Mr. Fahrenheit, is turrible. Just turrible. Woof!

You had a better ride than me tonight Boxster. Ride was fine but food truck did not show, was the sushi truck so probably not much of a loss. settled for wings and a beer instead.

Nieces wedding was a very fun time. Well attended and fun crowd. UNI niece mentioned FB score when up 7-0 then neglected to keep track of the score as they fell further behind. A rousing edition of Sweet Caroline was sung when the Clones won. Work today and tomorrow, today went smooth, tomorrow will be quite a bit busier.

Had a scare with the dog. Went down to pick him up from my mom and he was whining, whimpering and even snapping at anyone that touched his belly. Was walking fine, eating fine, etc. He's got a lump there that I've been concerned about but he never seemed bothered by it so I never was. Until now.

Called the vet and FORCED him to come in despite them being closed fearing it's a tumor (his sister, Penny, had to be put down due to a tumor in her stomach). I was pretty emotional.

Vet said the lumps were just fatty deposits and he's not worried about them. Couldn't identify why for sure Riley was whining like in pain, but did discover he picked up a nasty case of fleas while staying with my mom while I was in Costa Rica, and thinks that he's just irritated by all of the fleas on him.

Got a dose of super heavy duty flea meds, some pain killers and sent on his way, by I was so freaked out by it I'm still shook up. I'm going to be inconsolable when this dog actually goes.

Did you check for botflies? Or mango fly larvae if Fat Corgi has been to East Africa lately.

Everything turned out great last night and surprisingly there were no political fights.

Dad and I were going to go fly this morning but Saturday he got a letter from the FAA that they were screwing with his medical again so he is currently suspended. Not happy with them right now.

Had friends over tonight and almost texted meow friend to invite her but knew she probably had bigger plans this labor day weekend. Sure enough, got the text tonight that baby meow was born in Friday, happy and healthy are all!
I thought she was moving.
