Northern Saskatchewan is looking better all the time...

I hear this is getting to us tomorrow and the weekend. Which means the last of the replacement plants I need to put in (winter was not kind to my plants!!) should go in tonight........but we have the hospital tour. Bleh. And my plan to go u pick strawberries this weekend may be DH go pick or DH go buy them from the strawberry fest while I sit in the car!

@CloneinWDSM

Two things.

1. You missed your chance last week, I came home from work and DH had left the front door unlocked that morning.
2. I see Ariana Grande is engaged to Pete Davidson. I don't think I've seen an IRL pic of you but it wouldn't take much to be more attractive than him (IMO) so you may have had a shot with her. She must be into funny guys.

Just got back from my old preschool in the country outside of Nevada. Strawberry season just hit and when out to pick some strawberries. Then tonight my mom and I will turn them into homemade strawberry jam like my grandmother used to make.
I'm waiting for the black raspberries at Berry Patch. :D

My middle daughter, who just graduated from nursing school, interviewed for a new job at Hennepin County Hospital (where she has worked as a CNA in emergency, 2nd shift). Interviewed at 11:30 am, hired at 2 pm. Taking her boards this Friday.
Turns out she took her boards yesterday. And passed. I guess there are 75 questions, and if you're borderline, another 50 get added... up to 225 questions. If you are doing terrible, after 75 questions, it's over. If you passed after 75 questions, it's over. She was very worried, because she only knew the exact answer to 5-7 of them. A lot of hypothetical situation questions.

I'm very proud of her accomplishment.

When our middle daughter was going to take the MCAT exam, I asked her if she had any idea what it was like. She told me there were sample questions available on-line, so I peeked in to see for myself.

I felt pretty inadequate after that.

And no, @jcyclonee, just don't go there.

1. I love weather of all kinds especially extremes so I am kind of excited for this weekend.
2. CG your behind better not be trying to do anything outside other than eat ice cream.

You sound like my mom, husband, and boss. They're all like you are still trying to do too much. Pshaw. I just need to get some roses and hydrangea planted. Though I did make DH do some of the digging on the last stuff because the constant getting up and down was a PITA. Also because it was in rock. I can kneel on mulch and that's fine but kneeling on rocks doesn't work.

I have a patch of wild strawberry as ground cover on the east side of my house. Berrys don't get much bigger than a peanut. Nice ground cover though.

Do what you can; as long as it doesn't hurt. You are the best judge of what you can do. But I DO second the warning about the heat. It can hit you pretty quickly, moreso when you're greatly preggers. Voice of experience here... ;)

yeah I am going to try and get the flowers dealt with tomorrow after work because I think this weekend will be really bad. We have some trees we want to get staked so we'll have to see about that because I really don't have a strong desire to spend much time outdoors this weekend!

PapaLew tried (for the third time) to get strawberries going in a patch by the front door. Unsuccessful, again. I told him he's just going to have to buy established plants. More expensive, but more likely to grow.

I proctored an exam about medical history for a prof who had to do a departmental service thing which actually could only be done at that time (teaching observation thing).

I looked at that exam and immediately thought, "Goodness, don't ask me any questions, people."

The prof taught me one of the things on the exam, the Corpse Law of 1832 (England). I was impressed.

Yup, you're all going to die. Pants and I will give you all a In Memorial toast while we are cooling off at a lakeside bar here.

Your best chance to escape the heat apolcaplyse is to commandeer (and I mean steal) a plane and have @wxman1 fly you all to someplace cooler. Don't try Canada. They are now an enemy of the USA and will likely shoot you down. And don't try Mexico either even though it will be cooler there. They hate us to. Might give Whitefish Lake in Montana a shot although in a heat apocalypse world the gun toting Montana people might shoot you to.

No idea the origin of mine. They volunteered and have spread over the years. Like most of my lot it's really shady so a little surprising how they have thrived there.

Once you get past paper cuts there are no exact answers in medicine. Exact procedures and process, maybe, just not answers.

You don't have to be pregnant to use something like this:
shopping

It's a garden kneeling pad about a foot wide.

Mrs. Velo has one, but as for me - being cheap - I just use an old stadium cushion.
