So people just go digging through ditches for aspargus? You guys have heard of gardens or the store right?

"What should we have to go with this steak tonight?"
"CG go down in the ditch and grab some asparagus."

The perfect Iowa late spring supper - Freshly caught walleye (from Brushy Creek, thank you very much!), ditch asparagus (c'mon, @wxman1, you can slum with us a little bit), and some yummy dead morels.

Now I'm hungry. And drooling.

Saw a # I didn't recognize, but it looked local, so I let myself think "Hey, it's a job thing" and answered.

No, it's a robocall.

Yeah, as an applicant you can't just ignore all of your unidentified calls. I do not answer anything if it doesn't ID as one of my contacts. If it's a "real" call they will leave a message like the Davey Tree guy did yesterday.

For non-academic jobs, I'm toying with deleting my degree from the resume and telling them I've spent the last few years playing video games.

I eat asparagus. I just get them from the store or garden.

Wherever I go, there I am.

"Most of Winnebago's service providers are in the Twin Cities, Happe said, which include the company's audit firms, legal firms and marketing and communications firms. The Twin Cities also serves as a better location to hold meetings with other businesses, he said."

BizJournal now lists it as a Minnesota company. ;)

Damn Minnesotans poaching Iowa's companies. This could lead to war!

I cook asparagus in about a 400degree oven after drizzling with olive oil and salt/pepper. Sometimes I add Parmesan cheese. Serve with lemon pepper butter.

All of hubby's corporate offices are out East in PA. Even the control center/employees he manages are in PA. Flies out once a month.

I had to make a run to the grocery store last night at 9. The 12-year-old is giving a speech on products made in Minnesota and needed a Honeycrisp apple. I got home and she informed me that I forgot to get the 3M Post-it notes. It turns out that she texted that request to the wrong contact in her phone. We found some in one of our drawers.

What is it with old men & wallets? PapaLew forgets his about 25% of the time we're leaving the house.

Pretty rare for me, almost never happens. Had it out earlier to pull my drivers license* to take with me biking so it was not with the usual grab pack of out the door stuff (keys/wallet/handkerchief/comb/cheater glasses).

* I have an ID bracelet for running/biking/workouts so people can call my sister to pick up my dead body if I stroke out but sometimes bring photo ID also.
