In the real world we might not be ranked at all or at best maybe 23/24/25. It's easier, as noted above in some posts, to move down than it is to move up. ASU dropped 9 spots and out last week. Only one team moved up more than 3 spots in either poll last week and we are like 31/32 this week. It's not people voting in these think about it in great depth and deeply scour articles, boxscores and videos of 30 plus teams. Although we do have a big primetime ESPN big game win that's kinda hard to ignore.

Blah blah something, rankings don't matter, blah something blah. ;)

This is the correct answer.

I don't really care if we're ranked or not? Just keep winning and we'll get a great seed in the tourney and that's all that matters. Rankings are meaningless and are just for bragging rights, and I'm sure Prohm doesn't give a s**t about bragging rights.

Teamrankings.com now has the B12 projections in a virtual dead heat this year.
I don't think we're losing at home this year, so if we can steal a few on the road, I think we could be in for a special year.

The opportunity is there.

Equation is - Win 9 at home and 5 on the road - I think 4 losses wins the Big XII this year.

So we are looking for the 4 more wins on the road - Baylor, KSU, WVU and one of the Texas schools.

Doesn't matter. Rankings don't matter. Just play the games

One of these was sarcastic, one was not

Certainly looks like a top 25 team.

ISU was #32 last week, but only one voter had us in top 25, and he ranked it 15th or 16th, I think. I expect a lot more voters jumping aboard this time.

Among teams above ISU in ranking points, Arizona State, Villanova, Seton Hall and TCU were higher than us and might maintain it, although none of those had a win over a top-5 team. Cincinnati and Kansas State will drop.

Win @MurderRapeU and vs KSU, and the week after we could be very high with a gaudy 14-2 mark.

Kenpom has Tech's adjusted D at #1. I've only seen highlights but they look pretty physical.

I watched their game against Duke and they are physical. Their biggest weakness is their tendency to go through scoring droughts. Duke shut them down the last 6 minutes to win the game.

After yesterday there’s no reason to think we can’t beat Kansas at Phog.
