What makes him an idiot? I respect the heck outta Bill Self. His teams are always good even when they lose tons of seniors. He is great for the Big 12. Obviously I hope he doesn't snatch Vaughn away but calling him an idiot is idiotic of you.

Not even close. If we miss on RV he'll just be a great recruit that we missed on. If he was a central IA kid who committed to ISU his soph year then decommitted and went to KU then maybe. Besides, any out of state recruit won't be known to the 98% of fans who don't follow recruiting.

Self is most certainly not an idiot. One of the best coaches in the country. In fact, if Hoiberg left ISU, and I could pick anyone to replace him, I'd pick Self.

There sure are a lot of talented idiots out there that choose/chose to play for that idiot. How many players has he put in the NBA? How many conference championships has he won? Etc...I don't like the guy either, but I still respect what he has done for KU.

I don't think Self is not an idiot, but he does have some used car salesman in him. I think it is hard to match Fred's likability. Right now Self has the tradition of Kansas on his side, but if Fred can land recruits like Vaughn and Cunningham it could change everything. We could have a team that is a Final Four contender and elevate our program nationally. With some national success, I think Fred would be a beast on the recruiting trail. It seems like he has everything else in place to make this program special.
