Re: Rashad Vaughn

Empirical evidence that we are one of the best in the country at developing talent doesnt help our cause? He went to findlay because he wante wanted to get better. This matters to him.
That data really only applies to recruits who aren't 5 stars who already have the talent

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I almost feel like Kentucky needs more role players, like a past first point guard and a garbage man type. Rather than 5 mcd AA types.
Maybe he is not good at player development. I mean, start with five of top nine of bball land and lose two already plus have all the talent coming back from last year. Must suck when you expect top be national champs and then get beat by baylor on national TV.

Why do you keep saying that? Not all 5 stars get drafted. Not even close. Nor does any school come close to getting all 5 * recruits drafted. It shows how a school develops talent compared to the average that is all. Doesnt matter what types of recruits you have. I think that matters to everyone. If youwere right Kentucky, Kansas and UNC wouldn't have some of the highest draft cinveraion numbers in the country. They get more drafted than Iowa State purely because they have had better recruits. This was the point argued for 3 pages, whether going to UK increased odds in the draft, this proves it does vs. 95% of schools but not ISU.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Sample size doesn't even compare. UK gets 6 per year. How many has Ia St had total?
Not true. They had 6 in 2012. From 2002-2011 they had a total of 17. Or on average 1.7 per year in the 10 years prior to an anomaly year. Even with that year they are averaging 2.09 a year since 2002.

As for sample size it is the roughly the same. They measure how many players you have and how you convert them to the draft compared to what would be expected for that level of recruit. UK may have a slightly bigger sample because more players left early and thus have signed more kids. But we also had a lot of kids transfer Iin the mcdermott years.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Kentucky (loses), Kansas (loses), UNLV (loses), and we win... I know this doesn't correlate to Rashad's recruitment, but this thread was on the 2nd page and that just cannot happen.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

We sure could use Vaughn next year. We'll have a pretty stacked front court, but we could still use an aggressive scoring guard next year. Matt and Naz are getting there, but they're still a little passive. We could use a guard that isn't afraid to attack and score to go with Niang, Hogue, McKay and Nader.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Ah, a bunch of Iowa State fans arguing amongst themselves that Iowa State is the best place for a highly sought after recruit to go. Genius!

Re: Rashad Vaughn

He's got more teams from the Big12 on his final list than any other conference. I'll take that as a he would like to play in the Big12, and add that to the list of many reasons why we make the most sense for him.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn definitely isn't coming here since this thread couldn't stay on the first page. Way to go, everyone. You all should be ashamed of yourselves!

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Looks like the thread may have been abandoned after getting derailed a bit... Found this tweet on ESPN's front page this morning. Is there really any buzz still left about the shot of Vaughn ending up at Minnesota?? Seem to be some holding onto faith...

A lot can happen in six months, so I wouldn't put anyone completely out of it, but some seem more likely than others.
