I hope we don't make his next list so we can just move on. Of course you don't give up until told to or the tea leaves are overwhelming.

That's not very optimistic. I hope our coaching staff doesn't have the same mentality because they obviously still think we have a shot at him.

Who wants to make a top players list? What a drag that would be...

One reason to be a Cyclone would be to get the one year of tutoring of what it takes to be in the NBA. Has Calipari played in the NBA?

I still believe we are in his top 5 due to Fred's style of play, ties to the NBA, location close to home and long standing relationship to Vaughn. We also can guarentee him immediate exposure as the number one option as a shooter in a better league. I am not saying he will come here but I don't think ISU is out of the race. (nor do I think the staff thinks they are out). Plus he could make a name for himself as an all time Cyclone, possibly in one year. That won't happen at UK.
However...
Calipari has coached in the NBA and has a lot of ties to the front office along with a proven track record of getting players into the lottery. He also has top flight assistants and state of the art facilites. Basically it is the closest thing to a NBA team there is in NCAA athletics. If Vaughn's only goal is to be one an done then Kentucky is the program for him. Personally, I won't be upset if this is the case, he worked himself to this position.

Fred has/is still building right now and has the oppertunity to raise this program to heights not yet reached. Getting three players from last years team onto NBA rosters along with Royce and Diante in the NBA shows he can help players break into the league. CFH just isn't on Calipari's level on graduation one-and-dones to the league that coach Cal is... yet.

State of the art facilities? They may have spent $3M on the locker room alone but Rupp is a COMPLETE dump. One of the worst basketball arenas in the nation. Plus you spend your entire career with toothless hillbillies cheering for you. I've spent a lot of time living in that state and the breed that roots for UK is beyond description of words. The Hills Have Eyes.

I agree with most of this. I would much rather him join countless others at UK than pick KU, BU or UNC. And the way those annoying gophers have been lately, screw them too.

Kentucky: home of baseball bats, college basketball, and inbreds.

Kentucky is such a lousy state. I hope Vaughn picks us over a bunch of toothless, overall wearing, moonshine brewing, incest loving, slack-jawed yokel hillbillies.

Not disagreeing that Rupp might be a dump, but have you seen this video?

No place like home: UK's new gold standard in housing - CoachCal.com

Their dorm alone has to be one of the best in the country which is located right next to the practice facility, weight room, and an academic support building.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Thanks for the info, but I'd be shocked if FH was there just to see Vaughn.

I'm sure they watch other players but it's not like they went there to watch other players and Vaughn was just there. Vaughn is a top target for CFH and staff
