Re: Rashad Vaughn

For the 100th time, read the article posted. Vaughn said ISU texted him and said they would be there to watch him.

Wasn't debating that. I'm sure we text all the players that we're there to see them. And, I don't remember ever stating that the staff had totally given up on Vaughn. Just think they know where they stand. Kudos for persistance. Do believe Quadri Moore is at that event, too. Anyone know if we're still seriously on his list?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Thanks for the info, but I'd be shocked if FH was there just to see Vaughn.

Read the Zagsblog article posted in this thread and others, dated yesterday.

also, check Travis Hines roster of targets and event locations. RV was pretty much the only 2014 target at Reebok/ Philadelhpia. Out other top targets are at Indianoplis (Adidas) and Florida (Nike EYBL peach Jam).

It's possible, but I think we got in on him way too late.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Well we dont know if they are still recruiting him for one. 2, we might be in his top 5, similar to the way we were in HB top 5. If I had a top five, iowa state would be 1, 2-5, while would still be in my top five, would be out of consideration.

I just dont see anything pointing to us having a legitimate shot at him.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The thing doesn't even have funding yet, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Construction wouldn't even start until Fall of 2014. As hard as the city of Louisville is taking it in the backside for the deal the conjured up with UofL the city of Lexington is going to crossing a lot of Ts and dotting a lot of I's before they think about finalizing funding for this.

They also are prettying up the outside but bench, yes bench, seating is remaining in part of the inside to maintaine capacity numbers.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The money UK makes from basketball is way more than their football team so getting funding for basketball projects are as likely as ISU would be for football projects.

Vaughn won't even get to see the result of it since he will be getting drafted in 2015.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Per ESPN - Vaughn and Josh Perkins potential package deal.

2014 ESPN 100 five-star guards Rashad Vaughn (Golden Valley, Minn./Findlay Prep) and Josh Perkins (Denver, Co./Huntington Prep) are discussing playing together in college, SNY.tv's Adam Zagoria reported. At No. 11 in our rankings, Vaughn is regarded as the top shooting guard in the Class of 2014. Perkins is ranked No. 24 in our rankings and has shown this spring and summer that he can compete with the best point guards in his class.

“We wanted to go to the same high school but it didn’t work out so now we’re planning to play in the same college,” Perkins told SNY.tv at the Reebok Classic Breakout, which is in full swing this week.

“I’ve been talking to Josh Perkins about going to the same college," Vaughn added. "We’re probably going to sit down this weekend and talk about all that.”

Kentucky, Kansas, Baylor, Minnesota and UCLA are the schools on both players' lists. Vaughn has been heavily targeted by North Carolina while the Tar Heels are not in the mix for Perkins. Perkins has stated he's waiting on an offer from Kentucky and it seems likely that is his first choice. Both players have already visited UCLA and both have good things to say about Minnesota and new coach Richard Pitino, especially Vaughn, who is from Minnesota.

It's hard to know if this kind of package deal will actually happen, especially since there are so many other variables at play but this duo would only be behind the Tyus Jones-Jahlil Okafor package in impact.

I don't know why I continue to look at this thread

That's a fine Jack Dempsey avatar. I miss my central American utopia of 9 tanks back in the day. Now I have 0 till I get a house with a dependable sewer line lol.

Vaughn is not coming to ISU but the fact that Baylor is even mentioned makes my blood boil.

Which sucks. I don't know how a recruit an watch Baylor and ISU, compare coaches, playing styles, fan support, etc and think Baylor is a better choice. I understand if the plan is to be a college graduate and the hopes at the end of your college career to have a shot at the next level. But as a OAD? Just seems like a terrible decision.

Nobody's really convinced me or "put a finger on it" as to why so many top recruits have Baylor on their list, but I have accepted it now. Just hope we can land of few of these guys sooner or later.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn had 9 threes in his last game. Hope he goes to a non-B12 school.
