Really? UNLV has made the tourney 6 of the last 7 years, by my count. Last year they were a 5 seed. In 2012, they were a 6 seed. That's higher than ISU in both years. And as for head-to-head, you have to go all the way back to last year to find the last UNLV victory over ISU.

So I'm not sure we want to stack our program's recent history up against UNLV. At best, it's a toss-up.

This is awkward but, they have won more games than we have the past two seasons... (51-46)

And last year Iowa won more games than ISU. But that means crap.

He's announcing at 6:30 Vegas time? Doesn't the UNLV game start at 7? that's not in the middle of the game. Either way, what's odd is that Coach Rice will be with his team. If RV were committing to UNLV and he's announcing right there in Vegas wouldn't RV want to do it with his new coach right there so they can all hug and stuff? Am I missing something? Only thing I can think of is that he Skype's UNLV fans and coach to their scoreboard before the game live.

a. coach generally not at these events.

b. even with lazard CPR wasnt there and that was .lock.

c. UNLV would violate ncaa rules by showing recruit but not enrolled in school on screen.

The two previous years, the MWC was as good or better than the B12 actually.

I like how our basketball future stacks up against almost anyone.

This Vaughn recruitment has been quite the experience and underscores how hard coaches have to work to get guys as talented as Vaughn. RV has given us a lot of positive PR simply by considering us to the very end, and hopefully we handle his decision with class regardless of outcome. We know Fred will.

Just pointing out that nobody from Vaughn's camp has confirmed this time/location is accurate. Normally a recruit this big would be publicizing his decision on twitter once it's set up.

You bring up an interesting point. If this location and time of announcement were etched in gold, it WOULD be all over the place.

Yep the Mountain West was up and the Big 12 was down the last two seasons.

At the very least the MWC was on par with the Big 12 the last two seasons. Saying otherwise is a bit homerish IMO.
