Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Technically speaking yes I understand it is a one year schoolie, however, it is rare for a player to not voluntarily leave. That's my point. If a UNLV player throws a fit and decides that they want to remain on the team they could and it would look incredibly bad for a coach to kick him off to free up for another player.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Umm no they aren't. You sign a LOI and it is for the duration of your choosing as a player not the other way around. See Armadi. You telling me CFH wouldn't have chosen Armadi over some others? Umm yea. You can't just kick a player of scholarship for no reason. Sorry but you are wrong.

Actually you can. Scholarships are year to year. See what happened to Booker at Southern Illinois. It doesn't happen often but coaches can choose to not renew for any reason.

Oh so literally the opposite of what you were saying? Ok.

And of course it happens all the time and it is passed off as a player transferring for more PT or to go closer to home or some other BS reason. Players can't just keep their scholarships as long as they want. That's completely absurd.

Yeah, but what do you know...heck...next I suppose you'll claim to know because you were a college athlete or something. Beyerball knows his stuff man.

Technically I was a college athlete as I attended college and I played basketball at Leid. :jimlad:

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

From the SI article the other day it sounded like Kane didn't have his scholarship renewed.

Beyerball doesn't seem to know a whole lot judging by his posts. He thought we would pay $600-$750k for an offensive coordinator.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

One thing to wonder about the delayed announcement is it makes you wonder since CFH has been recruiting RV longer than anyone and has the longest relationship that if RV has chosen UNLV that CFH made the call and said give me one more shot to talk. Kind of..You owe me at least that since we've known each other longer than anyone else. But what the hell do I know.

This isn't crazy. Or it could be eg UNLV wanting one more shot, who knows. Will be intersting if any staff go to Vegas this weekend...

I was just thinking about Kane as an example. Marshall wasn't going to renew his scholarship.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

From the guy's twitter feed it sounds like he is a panther hok. He's just butthurt that his main team is irrelevant now and his back up hawkeyes are choking as usual and they haven't even sniffed a player the caliber of RV nor will they for the forseeable future while mad fran is their coach.
UNI has hit the hard times.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

My sources are telling me that Rashad "likes us", but he's not sure if he "likes us likes us".

Take that as you will.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Say Vaughn does end up going to UNLV. IF we landed Clark and Malou to close out the class I'd be extremely extremely happy. There are some things to be happy about if Vaughn doesn't come here and we get our other targets.
