Borzello:
Re: Vaughn. UNC has three perimeter commits, while Kentucky has two SG targets in Booker & Blackmon who would be more likely to commit soon.

John Apostolopoulus: (not making that name up)
Vaughn would start over both Blackmon and Booker. But looks like UK has made those 2 more of a priority over Vaughn.

Borzello:
Agree on both points. Only crowded because it seems like UK wouldn't have to wait on Blackmon and/or Booker this fall.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I personally think his top 4 will be KU, UNC, ISU, Baylor plus Minny. Minny is probably just a nicety on his part. I think we're sitting in a pretty good shot, but we need to get him on campus one more time.

Paraphrasing Iowa Nice Guy, but it's good to see you're keeping Nebraska Math alive in the Big "12."

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I honestly fear UNLV more than the others for some reason.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Read the first post on page 74 of the Vaughn thread. It's pretty ridiculous that he's insulting us that much saying that Minnesota is better than us and so on. What has Pitino accomplished? A record barely over .500 in a lousy conference with no competition? Yet he's basically saying that Hoiberg has nothing fancy on his resume. The guy has NBA playing experience, NBA front office experience, has kept guys like White out of trouble for two years (which, to me, is nothing short of a miracle), and two tournament births in three seasons after taking over a program that McDouchemat ruined. Minnesota fans are douchetards.

Ok, not to make too much out of nothing, but up to 7 predictions on 247sports. Hopefully that means something great went down last night and the news is going around.

Several updated today, not sure if it's just the pickers talking to each other, or the Vegas visit apparently went very well.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The familiar Cyclone fan conundrum is happening to me right now:

I have previously complained (silently/ to myself, mostly), that the media and other fan bases have not recognized us as a legitimate player in the RV sweepstakes...

But now that the tides (perception-wise) are turning, I start to feel uneasy...

hate the lack of respect, yet feel uneasy about not being an underdog. Life of a cyclone fan. A little more of this, and I'll be perfectly ready for a kick to the nuts.

I am sorry, but Paterno's dad knows more about basketball than Hoiberg's dad.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Doogie tweeted me this after I asked him his take on ISU visiting:

Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson 3h @hansenry Talking with Rashad in mid-August, I know how much he loves Fred. I think he'd be a Gopher already if Fred had taken this job.

I think we all know Fred wasn't ever going to MN, but I do believe it's going to be basically his connection with Fred that brings him here.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Best thing I have ever heard...

If Rashad goes to Iowa State, I'd be pretty unhappy. Losing out to UNC or Kentucky is one thing, but losing out to ISU would be horrible. Luckily, as Rashad is a high school player, and not a D-1 upperclassman with serious behavioral issues, he is probably immune to Freddy's charms.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

What the heck happened last night on the crystal ball thingy? Are competing teams' writers just getting us to expose the nutsack?
