Re: Rashad Vaughn

A Kentucky reporter also changed his pick from UK to ISU. That makes 4 crystal ball predictions for us.

Proof the avatars are working. There seems to be a positive correlation between the # of RV avatars and # of Crystal Balls.....

Re: Rashad Vaughn

That's the first time I've really heard Jerry Meyer say we have a chance with Vaughn, let alone switch his pick to Iowa State.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

ISU is the perfect fit for Vaughn. I am still having serious doubts that we land him, but we can hope!!
Shhh! Vaughn may be reading your post and hate your negativity. The avatars are helping, so the posts need to be positive. I think we honestly have just as good of a chance as any other school. 247 sports updated their Vaughn list and it looks like they think UCLA, Georgetown, Arizona, and UConn are toast. I think his final three are seriously ISU, Kentucky and UNC. From there, it's too difficult to tell. But if Kentucky signs one or two of these 5 star SG's they're after, and UNC signs that four-star SG that's visiting this week, that may knock them out of the race or mean that they both feel like they're out of it. Hoping so!

I like this post, especially the facetious tone of the beginning. I do have one quip - Id bet he keeps Minnesota in until the end - even if only a ceremonial option.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I personally think his top 4 will be KU, UNC, ISU, Baylor plus Minny. Minny is probably just a nicety on his part. I think we're sitting in a pretty good shot, but we need to get him on campus one more time.

I think UNLV will make a push but I'm feeling better about our chances more and more each day

acgclone, we won't make his top four without you having a Vaughn avatar. Change it now or we might as well kiss our chances of landing this guy goodbye!

Both insiders pick Iowa State a few mins apart from each other at 11:30 at night, the same night we meet with Vaughn. I might start drinking the kool aid.

I would guarantee that.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Honestly, I think Kentucky lands Stanley Johnson (5-star SG recruit), Kansas signs Kelly Oubre (5-star SG recruit), and UNC gets a commitment from Robert Johnson (4-star SG) that makes Vaughn go against them. Minnesota and Vaughn is nothing more than Harrison and ISU, and Baylor gets shafted. Kentucky is also making a big push at 4-star SG James Blackmon and they seem to be a big frontrunner. If Kentucky gets both Blackmon and Johnson, there is absolutely no chance in hell that Vaughn goes to them. I really think this whole UNC pushing hard for Robert Johnson makes them think they're not in the best situation. Same situation with Kansas and Kelly Oubre.

I could see it working out like this. My only concern is Vaughn's official visit. On his official visit, I think UNC will tell him to commit then or else they'll take Robert Johnson instead. It is schools like ISU that are willing to wait until spring on big name talent but schools like UNC/KU/UK have plenty of other top tier alternatives. The other pieces may fall into place at the other schools which opens the door for us. Then again, that's how we thought the Jaylen Johnson situation would go but we were obviously wrong then.

I knew we wouldn't get Johnson and I got crucified here for saying as much. I wish I was wrong on that....
