Re: Rashad Vaughn

Agreed, if he was a die hard fan the percentages should be Minnesota -100%
The rest - 0 %

This may be a little extreme. I wouldn't necessarily say that a die-hard fan of one team can't choose to go to college to another school for one reason or another, but I'd have to see some level of it being painstakingly hard not to choose the Gophers over the another team, and I definitely don't see that. In fact, I'd say he really doesn't even have them on his mind overall that much, at least in what he portrays to the media.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I see you have quote by he grew up a diehard MN fan, but did he actually say that? Maybe he did and I missed it. I knew he was a fan. However, even if he did say it, something tells me he threw that term around a lot looser than I would. There are definitely a lot of people who say they are a diehard fan of a team in which I don't consider them diehard at all due to MUCH different definitions. With that said, under my definition, I'd simply say Vaughn seems to have grown up a Minnesota fan, not a diehard one.

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean that he was a diehard fan, only that if he was it is one of the few things the Gophers have in their favor. I have no idea how much allegiance he has to them.

I hate to say it even as an example of my theory since it is an instance where we were actually on the other side of the coin, but Joel Lanning is a decent example. Joel truly seemed to be a pretty die-hard Hawkeye fan growing up who really wanted to go to Iowa (he even pretty much said so in the media), but didn't get a scholarship offer there so went here. Granted, this is an example where the scholarship made all the difference in the world, but technically he could have walked on at Iowa. Nevertheless, some type of factor (whatever it is) was big enough to make him choose a different school than Iowa but you could tell it was hard for him to.

No worries. He definitely was a Gopher fan to some degree. However, didn't he also say at one time he was a Hoiberg fan as well? If so, at least we've got that going in our favor.... oh and the fact that mothers find him dreamy.

The only people I can think of that aren't Hoiberg fans are Gopher and Hawkeye fans, Bill Self, and Scott Drew.

I don't think there is any beef between bill and fred; I think they are actually pretty close as far as coaches go. However, I would agree KU fans don't really like fred, they don't like the possibility of a power shift.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The thing that I dont like about that crystal ball projection is that Kansas is nowhere on there. I love seeing us at 55% but it makes me question that absolutely no one thinks he goes to Kansas? Hopefully theres more behind the scenes than we know and is shaping up to show that CFH has all but gotten a signature from RV.

They don't vote for 2nd place and Kansas hasn't been recruiting him extremely hard. There is little indication of their standing from reports on Kansas' recruitment.

I don't really think that's true though. Self visited both Vaughn is Vegas and his parents in Minny last week. They are also getting an official visit. KU is definitely involved and working hard at it.

But not extremely hard as in ISU and others recruiting him extremely hard. He is the #1 priority of most of the other schools, not so sure that is the case with Kansas at this time.
