Easy for you to say. You're not WSU or OSU. Creating a Pac Light is their best option.I assume continuing to exist as a conference is the point. But the Pac without USC is silly. They should let it die with some dignity.

They're gone. XDSUs, Montanas and Idaho are locks for the new Mountain West.Would NDSU jump up to MWC?
officially official
That is the point. PAC12 still has better name recognition/prestige than Mountain West. You take the best of the Mountain West, Oregon St and Washington State. Maybe a Tulsa or something and continue the PAC12 brand.I just don’t really see what the point of this PAC 12 move is. Its like they went “what if we rebuilt the Mountain West but with a different name”

Some definite branding opportunities there. But who doesn't love a 6 pack?
Dang it happened just like that. Guess I'm used to a long drawn out process like the last few years. Again this sucks, it's the little guys who get left out. But some schools will get to "move up" the conference ladder so there's that at least. They should change the conference name to 6 Pac.
We could have the Craft division and the Domestics division! Those with a 12 pack?

What is the alternative?Doesn’t this all seem like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic? I mean, the Pac 12 name carries some cache but they aren’t a power conference and won’t be considered one.
Anyone want a guess as to what a media deal would like once they get to 8 teams?
The P12 gets an invite to playoff each year, while the MWC doesn't. i would guess that by keeping the P12 going, the invite will stay the same at least until the other schools vote to change it. If that is true, it will bring more money into the conference for the new schools than if they had stayed in the mountain west.I just don’t really see what the point of this PAC 12 move is. Yes, but better to be a stronger G5 than weaker or independent.Doesn’t this all seem like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic? I mean, the Pac 12 name carries some cache but they aren’t a power conference and won’t be considered one.

The 12 participating teams will be the five conference champions ranked highest by the CFP selection committee, plus the next seven highest-ranked teams.
- The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded one through four and will receive a first-round bye. The fifth conference champion will be seeded where it was ranked or at No. 12 if it is outside the top 12 rankings. Non-conference champions ranked in the top four will be seeded beginning at No. 5. Because of this, the seeding, 1 through 12, could look different than the final rankings.
