The one advantage of SEC grabbing Clemson & FSU is they would really dominate that area of the country! Give top recruits in SC/GA/FL more reasons to play in the SEC.

If Fox Sports wanted Oregon and Washington the deal would already be public. People seem to focus on the schools and conferences, they should focus on the source of the money.
Everything I've heard suggests they are very proud of their regional identity.

Agree. Plus the current SEC deal is all ESPN- both linear and SECN. I would be curious if ESPN has need for additional inventory at SEC prices. Or if they would want to invite a competing media company like CBS, NBC or Amazon to share in their SEC monopoly.
With the SEC's add of Texas, OU, A&M, Ark & Mizzou over the last 30 years, I always felt if the SEC would expand further, they would look at KU, CU, UA, ASU and UU.
But the SEC's success and escalated media values per school have made adding those schools a lot harder or impossible in 2025. A school like Mizzou was fortunate to get into the SEC before the rights monies exploded.
I'm sure this has been posted on here, but it does seem interesting that an ESPN reporter beats up the PAC a bit and then drops in some Big 12 news too.

This... Amazon and ESPN working together for an expanded B12 inventory is right out of the B12 escalator.
What this makes it sound like is that those talks are not only happening but fairly advanced in their progress.
Makes you wonder what this could end up being considering those 2 are supposed to be the offer on the table for the Pac conference, if they have moved on to working with the B12 to get the PAC schools it could be the final nail.
It would be a kill shot and I assume Yormark would deserve some credit.
If the 4 corner schools chose to "ride the roller coaster of instability one more time" for the next 5 years or so, that will be a very expensive roller coaster ride for them as the difference in conference payouts over the next 5 years will probably amount to many millions of dollars. Let’s just say the article bluntly states it, the only option for the four corners is the Big 12 in the long-term. The question is whether they want to ride this roller coaster of instability one more time (5 more years until Oregon and Washington presumably get the invite to leave), or whether they want to control their own destiny.

I hope we don't swallow so much of the PAC that we're closed off to more adds when the ACC explodes. I'd be much more excited to have VT, Pitt, and Louisville 5-10 years from now than to have any PAC teams besides AU and ASU.

I agree whole heartedly. I think we do have to make moves now with certainty versus the risk of being burnt later by a future that doesn’t come true. Who knows what the landscape looks like when the ACC implodes?
The PAC had a chance to kill the XII when OUT broke away and they didn’t. I know it’s not that simple, but here they are on the cusp of crumbling.

Why thank you, my son. Unfortunately, my source is so preoccupied with Notre Dame, it's difficult to get a hint of what's going to happen with all the other schools.
Out of curiosity why do you want VaTech or NC State? That’s more of a realistic scenario instead of a dream one. I get the Pitt love after the great game with WVU this year but don’t understand the other two.
