I'm trying to figure out who they'd bring in to replace him.
I could see Brian Heartline being promoted. Insanely good recruiter and very young for an OC. External hires I legit don’t know. Probably depends on who stands out this year. Maybe TCU or Washington’s coach if they put up another good season. But really no idea.

Seat is very very hot. Back to back loses at Michigan by double digits, and the defense is really bad against non big ten (aka talented) offenses. Alums and donors are very pissed.
Buckeye fans are delusional. Day has lost 6 total games in 4 years. Of those losses, 3 were in the CFP(Clemson, Clemson, UGA), 2 were to Michigan, and a week 2 game against Oregon.

Problem is those losses to Michigan. He wins the first one and harbaugh is probably fired. He’s letting Michigan get back into the rivalry and that’s what fans care about outside of winning a natty. They had it made the last 20 years so they got used to being dominant. I personally don’t think Day is the guy and have been pretty consistent on that but not sure who is better.

Outside of Saban or Kirby Smart, I think they probably have a realistic shot at anyone else they want. Arguably the best job in the country.

I agree I just don't know who's a step up?
Maybe if Kelly never went to LSU?
Lane?

I lived in Columbus, OH, for 3 years right out of college. Michigan is all they care about. At least in the late 90s, it was all they cared about. Week one of college football, there were ads on local stations about the Michigan game, which is the last week of the season. John Cooper had four straight seasons where he won 11, 10, 11, and 11 with a Rose Bowl win and a Sugar Bowl win, and the masses in Columbus wanted him fired because he lost to Michigan each of those years.

If Freeman at Notre Dame ends up being successful, I think he's their guy. OSU alum; got off to a rough start but rebounded well and can recruit.

Arizona and Colorado aren't going to just sit around and wait for the inevitable. As soon as UW and Oregon get the call they are B1G bound. This is without even factoring in the gap in TV revenue.
The problem is that everybody including them knows that the Big 12 wants them. So if the Pac falls apart, the Big 12 will be there. And we will. The Pac will sign a 4 year deal. I don't see the ACC brand teams getting out via negotiation until 2034 at the earliest. Thus, there is no threat of us inviting any leftover ACC teams. Plus, Yormark has made it clear he would like more western teams for the time zone.

Same reason I've told my Nebraska friends I don't care for Tom Osborne. More than once when they had missed an extra point, he would get it back by running a trick play for 2 points later. Obviously he wanted fans all around the country to know they scored 9 touchdowns on Iowa State, rather than think 8 TDs and 2 FGs. Oh the shame of having others believe Iowa State forced you to kick field goals!!!! Twice!! Can't let that happen.
He would go for it on 4th down all the time 2nd half instead of kicking the FG. I view kicking the FG as less running it up.

Interesting thing would be if Colorado would jump alone initially. Is that what the UCONN smoke was about? Perhaps the Big12 would use them as leverage to get Arizona to jump? I don't see UCONN as being a legit option similar to SDSU, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be used for a negotiating tactic.
