Granted a bias opinion but aren’t the all?
ESPN as a subsidiary is subject to spin-off. But as another 'insider' information poster stated, they're in the 'know' on this stuff. So, I'll just step back and wait and see. That said, there are 'levels' of bankruptcy which would allow ESPN to forego and eliminate some of their debt. So, again, we'll see.I specifically raised the issue of bankruptcy and you said no, that wasn't a concern. So under what other circumstance would Disney be able to avoid their obligation to the Big 12 once they've made us an offer and signed a contract?
If it is a full break away, they won’t play teams from outside their league. Otherwise, it is not a true break away, just an evolution of what we have today. You can’t have a true break away and still play others (by definition). That is only in respect that everything in college sports is under the NCAA umbrella. If you want to go that route D3 is also together with P5...because they are part of NCAA.
It doesnt have to be a full break away from the NCAA, but it could be. The NCAA might not even exist in the future, at least not in the same way we currently know it.
And Wilner and Mandel are eating it up. It’s like giving Candy to a baby. They will eat it every time, but we all know it is dangerous to consume. He's pandering to his audience AND fighting for his job!
They really bought in to the alliance thing probably. Lol.It’s clear that much of the PAC truly did not see this coming. They didn’t realize it was already a P2 era and they were no longer peers of BIG and SEC.
No wonder USC had to get out. Delusion is going to death spiral some once quality programs

And after the PAC stood there all smug and sure of themselves after OUT happened. Hey K-man, if you had half a brain you'd have seen this coming back then. We, pretty much to a person, did. You could have added KU, ISU, TTech and whichever other you'd wanted and been sitting pretty right now, dancing on the grave of the Big XII.Big 10, USC, UCLA off the hook, they are smiling today, they did all the damage and B12 gets blamed for trying to help save some of these programs by giving them a lifeline from the Midwest where people still like football. This is what we get for trying to be helpful.

Some interesting stuff here
Last 1:20 ish they say the Oregon AD wouldn't commit to a GOR.

I think Mike Leach and Gardner Minshew had a lot to do with the Wazzou numbers in recent history. This article is probably one of the best data driven analysis of Big 12 v Pac 12 that we have seen this realignment cycle. Bradshaw (the author) did a lot to normalize the differences in the available viewer data for the two conferences, and would up with a comparison between the two conferences that to me seems very reasonable.
The chart below (pulled from the SicEm365 article) is basically a ranking of the H8+P10 by viewership, with a good amount of data normalizing to make as much of an apples-to-apples comparison as possible. What we end up with is: Oregon is the strongest, Kansas in the weakest, and just about every school in the middle has a comp in the other conference. ISU ends up 12th out of 18, which makes sense to me. Additionally, the new 4 for the Big 12 have numbers that are just below ISU over the same time frame, so I would expect them to all be middle of the pack after a few years in conference.
I do wish they had included values for the ACC as well just for further comparison, but that could be for the next step of analysis.
Edit: Wazzou has way stronger viewer numbers than I would have guessed, and would not be opposed to trying to add them over Cal or Arizona

Not the disparity I was expecting.Doesn’t make me feel real great reading this.
It breaks it down that the PAC w/Oregon and Washington has viewership pretty similar to us. They got offered 24.5 MM per school. Does that mean we are worth about that now? Why?
