I agree 100% with this post. A lot on this board only views this way as there are no other options at this point. My question is if for some reason the Big 10 threw us an offer, would some on this board still want to play follow the leader with Texas? I doubt it. In the end if something better came around ISU fans would jump on it for the same reasons A&M did. I think deep down ISU fans know this conference is the worst in the country by a large margin.

You don't think Big East schools would jump into another conference if offered? Of course they would. The B12 may not be as solid as others but to say it is "the worst in the country by a large margin" is a bit of hyperbole.

When I think what a new 12 team Big 12 would look like. The north adding ND and BYU..add Central Florida to the south...man, that would be the greatest day ever.

Why would that be? I don't see ISU being annually successful against ND or BYU, even UCF would be tough. Kelly will have ND back to prominence quickly and BYU is always at least good. ISU is not going to threaten either teams recruiting base either.

Sourpuss or Hawk troll?

No one said anything about beating them, or about challenging a recruiting territory.

Unfortunately, this isnt the way this will play out. By all accounts the B12 is viewed as a dying conference and that image isnt going to change when you've got schools constantly looking to leave. No school in their right mind would leave their situation for a less stable one in the B12, atleast not a school with enough cache to help our image.

I'm sure after aTm leaves that wont be the last we've heard of schools bailing either. Missery made it widely known last year they wanted out, so i would assume eventually they will bail if the SEC or B1G comes knocking.

Nice try at the kumbayah though.
Well duh -- we trick them with a quick name change. The Big 16. Or B16 for short. THAT would be proactive!
