Here is an update on Javion Ogunyemi, a 2013 PF/C prospect from Upstate NY. He was reportedly offered in the Summer of 2011, severely injured his ankle last winter and is now finally able to play again. Since he didn't play this past summer, he has been off the recruiting radar which may work to ISU's benefit assuming they are still actively recruiting him.

I wouldn't cry if Tubby lost his job after this year.

Why? I want him right where he is. He'll always have good but not great teams and he can't take every good player in Minnesota.

Don't upset the deal we got going. Tubby on retirement watch at Minny and Mid-Major Fern in Iowa City. We couldn't have it any better than that.

It could be good in the long run if Tubby was fired but for all the 2014 studs we're going after, I think it would be too late for that new coach to form any sort of relationship with those players like Vaughn and Reid. I might be wrong but I just wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

U could be right or they could actually improve their credibility with '14 and '15 local recruits. As ballyhoo’d as Tubby has been, most of his top recruits have left (i.e. Royce) and I am guessing that the MN players have noticed. Plus Tubby is having difficulty getting a new basketball facility built and the rumors he'll be gone in two years can only fuel future instability in the program as they make their decisions.

BTW Rumor has it that Flip Saunders may lead their list of replacement candidates for Tubby if he were to leave/fired. Obvious parallels with Freddy, he is alum, player, with NBA connections (plus coaching experience too). Also the new Minn AD was the AD of Virginia Commonwealth, and has a good working relationship with Shaka Smart.

I'd just prefer the U of M keep Tubby as the semi-retired coach at MN.

Out of those three, Tubby would by far be the preferred coach for our purposes.

Royce committed and signed with Tubby. He didn't leave because of Tubby.

True, the U of M administration forces Royce out... Colten Iverson, Justin Cobbs and Devoe Joesph could be a few other recent examples. They all may have other legitimate reasons to leave other than Coach Smith but it is still a poor refection on the program looking from the outside, ala Coach McDermott.

Having no hard proof...I'd think we have a better chance with the duo than K-State does. Just a hunch tho

Bruce Weber is not going to be taking Jared Terrel and Abu from us. Fred will not let that happen

Does anyone have any predictions on the MBB recruiting front? Who is our next commit? How many more HS players do we get this fall and how many scholarships do we keep for a spring transfer?

Chris McCullough to Brewster also. Fred must be placing our entire 2014 class there for pre-college team bonding.

Could you imagine the ESPN headline? ISU cleans up at Brewster. Every board from Syracuse to Florida would be crying and screaming cheater as they look at all the broken glass that held their house together.

We made HS PF Hassan Martin's top 4 list and he plans on deciding late fall i think. I like our chances with him. Dustin Hogue from Indian Hills C.C. wants to come visit us again. He is a SF. I could see him deciding by late fall as well and I could see us being at the top of his list. Byron Ziegler and Martez Walker are both HS SF's that are from Michigan that i see us being in the running for. Not sure when they plan to make their decisions. HS PF Kyle Washington put us in his top 11 which doesn't really mean much. I see us getting 2 more commits before the November signing period. If both of those signs are from HS prospects i could see us trying to snag 1 Juco player in the spring and banking one scholarship for the loaded 2014 class.
