lets get back to basketball recruiting. Whats the latest on some of the post players such as washington, martin, zeigler, etc.?

I think I saw that Martin is down to a final 4-5 including the Cyclones and plans to make a decision around November.

I thought Zeigler was more of a 3 than a post player?

Yes, Washington is a true 4. Martin has the potential if he grows to be a special true 4, Zeigler is a 3/4 hybrid leaning towards the 3(think ejim with a jumper). I would be very happy with any or all of them. But would like to see them without shirts first before picking a favorite:jimlad:

Well done. However, I hope this doesn't get to "he's out of gas" levels of use even though I think it's funnier.

Found this blurb in Bossi's last mailbag... Interesting ISU is recruiting the 4 most impressive players in NYC according to him. The first three would be tough gets, though Whitehead has still been mentioning ISU in interviews recently. I am starting to see Martin listed at 6' 7" in his most recent updates and mentions, looks like he is growing taller (that or he switched to shoes with larger soles.)

"New York state of mind
What New Yorker impressed you most during the spring and summer?
- Devin, Long Island

Given that they are both five-star prospects who rank No. 12 and No. 13 respectively in the class of 2014, it's no surprise that both big man Chris McCullough and wing Isaiah Whitehead were quite impressive during July. McCullough is a fluid athlete with size and great natural instincts, while Whitehead is one of the best off-the-dribble scorers in the country regardless of class.
Also quite impressive during the summer was 6-foot-9-ish four man Jermaine Lawrence. Lawrence was a productive rebounder, mid-range jump shooter and scorer near the rim all summer long as he validated his five-star status in the class of 2013.
Looking a little bit off the radar, the guy who jumps out is 6-foot-7 combo forward Hassan Martin. Martin showed great signs in the spring with his activity, length and inside/out game. His stock has only continued to rise, and he's a potential Rivals150 prospect who is coming off of a breakout performance at last weekend's Battle of the Boroughs in NYC."

If Washington ends up at ISU, he will likely be guarding 5s the majority of the time along with Gibson for 2013-14. He has a 6-11 1/2 wingspan.

Martin also has an extreme wingspan for his height (and he may still be growing). If he comes to ISU, he will be a 4.

Yes, I've posted it before, I don't know the exact stats, but his wingspan is more than 7 foot already and he is likely still growing. He has potential to be special.

But yes, unless we somehow find an athletic center sometime, Our 4 position will usually be gaurding 5's.

I think Tubby at Minny is a good thing for us, right now. He does flirt with leaving every year, which can't hurt us. As Cydkar said, I would be more concerned by a hot shot young gun taking over for him.

Didn't he just sign an extension? I prefer he stayed as opposed to hiring a young gun super recruiter type.

He did sign an extension, however I've heard rumblings that despite the extension if Minny waits two more years they can actually get rid of him at a cheaper rate than they could before. In other words, the buyout was actually decreased by giving him the extension now. Not saying that that was the goal of the contract, just spreading some information...

Tubby in Minnesota sort of guarantees that they continue to be mediocre - which is good for us as long as Fred continues to look like a rising star. Tubby doesn't seem to like to recruit hard.
