Matt's in a bit of a shooting slump - can't make em all the time. He'll be fine.

Yeah I'm not worried about Matt.

i think maybe Badger fans are sensitive about not getting Thomas and are looking for validation that they he's not that good/ they're guy is better.

MT was not considered as a high Div.I recruit after his freshman season. Koenig was. Bo and TJ were both on Konig early, but Wisc. didn't really go after MT until late in his Jr. season. Probably had a little affect on his decision.

No doubt. I think the fan perception is that Wisconsin missed on Matt. Koenig began as a really highly rated prospect, but his rankings have dropped. Matt on the other hand (as you suggest) was a steady riser, and is now rated higher than Koenig. I detect a bit of sensitivity or at least wanting validation that Koenig is the better player by Badger fans.

The Badger fans were not very sensitive when they booted the Nebby fball team in the last game. They were obnoxious.

It's funny reading the Wisconsin Scout board, they will do anything to put down Thomas. Whatever floats their boat.

Monte Morris tallied up 26 points tonight in another win for Flint Beecher.

Also, 2014's Jared Terrell and Abdul-Malik Abu took a visit to UConn & Providence thus far this weekend. UConn's coach Ollie indicated they would love to have both of them as a part of the team going forward.

Various other information on the Twitter feed if you're interested.

Amazing that a school like UConn with future conference uncertainty, history of cheating still gets elite recruits...

Who also has a history of winning, and is in a sport where conference alignment is not all that important. If conference alignment mattered, Gonzaga would not make the tourney every year. So that point is invalid.

That leaves us with the history of cheating. Recruits don't care. They want to win. Does it stop top prospects in football from going to Ohio St., USC, or Penn St? No. These guys are not fans, they just want to win, and overlook the cheating.

Any updates on Sean O'Mara? I hope we get a good HS big man for 2014. Does anyone know how hard we are pursuing Alec Brennan? He intrigues me as seems like he would be a good fit for our system as he runs the floor well for being 6'10' and has an outside shot.

I think there was a rivals update on him recently and he listed schools that were recruiting him the hardest. We were not one of them. Not sure if that means we've cooled on him or what.

Based on the lack of high=major programs in the list he provided, it does likely mean ISU has backed off of him.

Which now begs the question, who is now ISU's top low post target for the 2014 class?

If we cooled on O'Mara that is a shame! Kid has a boat load of potential.. Getting a quality big man coming out of high school is increasingly becoming a challenge for most coaches across the nation I think. Maybe a big will surface by way of transfer in the future...

Ya, I really hope we do not repeat the last class, where we whiff on the small number of HS bigs we are after and settle for JC guys that are unheard of and don't seem to have a lot of other schools interested in them.

I think cykadelic2 means Brennan not O'Mara. O'Mara has plenty of high majors in Marquette and Illinois.

Nope, I meant O'Mara. His latest list that he is hearing most from included only two high=majors: Wake Forest and Boston College.
