What are the odds ISU draws the "short straw" of recruiting once again and Cunningham commits to Oklahoma this weekend before he ever officially visits ISU?

Cunningham seems like a guy who wanted to take all of his officials first but you never know. That would really suck if it happened.

Cyclones miss out on JuCo wing

Iowa State was slated to get a visit this week from junior college wing Dewayne Benjamin. Instead the Mount San Jacinto (Calif.) sophomore committed over the weekend to Oregon while on a visit to Eugene.

The Cyclones’ interest in Benjamin had grown considerably in recent weeks, and they’ll now have to turn their attentions elsewhere. ISU remains in the thick of things with a similar player in high schooler Josh Cunningham, who is slated for a visit to Ames on Oct. 26th.

Cunningham, a Chicago native, is a 6-foot-7 senior who projects as a small forward in college.
The Cyclones will likely also continue to monitor the junior college ranks for any players that pique their interest. ISU could very well get aggressive combing JuCos for a point guard as there will be a lot of youth at that position next season.

Oregon's recruiting pitch. "Hey Dewayne, this is Rich Amardi." "Rich Amardi, meet Dewayne Benjamin."

Yep - really missed out with the way things went down with Amardi. Too bad we hadn't known about Bubu before then....just how things go some days.

Didn't see this posted, but Bonzie Colson committed to ND. Wonder if they realized that turning away from slow gawky kids and turning to hybrid bigs was the way to go after getting steam rolled by us?

Have a feeling it's a race between ISU and Minnesota right now with Minny in the lead.. Hopefully Freddy can show him the light on his official.

I'm pretty surprised Bonzie chose ND...you figure he would have at least scheduled a visit with us being were his style of play for size.

I've gathered that we backed off Colson... possibly because he wasn't interested - but it was only a month or so in which we were associated with him.
