NY2LA interview with Jarvis Johnson...

Iowa State: “My sister goes there. I know it’s a good place. I like Fred Hoiberg’s style of play. It’s nice.â€

Johnson will visit Minnesota next Saturday and is also planning to see Kansas, Marquette, Michigan State, and Wisconsin this fall.

No leaders have emerged yet for Johnson, but he does know what he’s looking for in a school and a basketball program.
“Right now I’m still pretty wide open,†he said. “The playing style—what type of offense the school runs is important. The community and the coaching staff. I have to get to know the coaching staff and how good they are with the kids.â€

Exclude my obvious bias towards ISU here but the type of offense, the Ames/ISU community and fan base, and the coaching staff we can offer to him is pretty darn good. Plus his sister is coming to play basketball for CBF so I'm sure his family would love to see him here too. I like our chances.

I hope his sister takes to Fennelly's coaching "style". I like our chances.

Out of the lot of high school recruits, Jarvis Johnson is the best chance for us to garner his pledge...

Not sure if anyone had mentioned this, but sounds like JP Macura will make his decision late September or October. He has his round of visits coming up, including one to Iowa State (most likely) and looks to make a decision shortly afterwards according to recent interviews.

More catching up... 2014 Jaylen Johnson has obviously become one of the top targets in the class.

Johnson took unofficial visits to Michican and Michigan State earlier in the month, but has also set up his official visits list.

Iowa State - Sept 13
Louisville - Sept 20
Oregon - Sept 27
Florida State - Oct 4

Louisville is the favorite at the moment...
