It is weird that after 4 straight NCAA appearances and two straight Big 12 Tourney champs and a team that is preseason top 10 that it seems difficult to get high ranked kids to come when other places that haven't had as much success lately can. The one positive is that Prohm and TJ seem like they work their butts off recruiting so I think eventually thr recruiting will pick up.
Wisconsin has had success recently though

It's almost like we went through a coaching change or something.

Maybe King will reopen his commitment after Bo up and leaves next summer.

I already saw a quote that he was committed to Wisconsin with either Ryan/Gard as the coach. Gard is their T.J. long time assistant, top recruiting assistant and supposed coach in waiting thus has a good long standing relationship with all their recruits, if the transition happens there shouldn't be much turnover. If the AD goes rogue and hires outside the UW family things could change and TJ could swoop in and grab some of their verbal's. Kobe seems sold on being a Badger and is going to stay in-state no matter what unfortuantely.

You guys are both right. It's extra hard at ISU. Fred could have been an amazing recruiter I think, but decided not to prioritize HS recruiting from a staff experience standpoint, and couldn't commit long enough to ISU/recruits long enough to shake the uncertainty of going to the NBA (which turned out to be a totally legit concern for recruits).

I think our fans tend to overvalue our accomplishments, get to a final four and recruits will take notice.

Seems to you. We've locked up the top JUCO PG and appear to be locking up the #1 JUCO overall. Do you want to play the McDermott game with "highly ranked" HS kids? OR do you want to play the Floyd, LE, and Hoiberg game with JUCO's and transfers and just a sprinkle of HS kids?

But if you look at places like Arizona State, UNLV Alabama etc they don't need to go to final fours to get top HS recruits. I think that will change though bc Prohm seems relentless on the recruiting trail and so is TJ

In talking about HS kids.
McDermott wasn't getting top ranked HS kids except for Brackins. To make it to the final four you need top end talent. It's just a fact. Look I'm not saying that that Jackson won't be good. He may be but I'm just saying I don't understand why they can't land higher ranked HS kids and I'm saying I think Prohm and TJ together might be able to change that.

These guys would be great pickups in my opinion.

Theo has freakish athletic measurables, natural shot-blocking instincts and a couple nice moves in the post. If his post game develops at all he is a very special player.

McKinley Wright is very quick, has great range and a nice array of finishing moves for a skinny Sophomore, and sees the court really well. If he gets a little taller and stronger he too could be very special. Everybody will know a lot more about him once basketball season starts. Last year he split the point guard duties with Mr. Basketball. This year he handles it on his own.

Personally, I hope we offer them. I hear they are both really nice kids.

I have not kept up on this thread but anything newsworthy about ISU and Romello White?

As time goes by the odds of him ever visiting are slipping.

Seem like an odd recruitment so far. Wonder if there are academic problems?
