Good lord, you're a jagoff. I was just saying from his one picture he looked a lot older than a high schooler. Am I saying I don't want Long on the team? Not at all. He looks like he can ball and he's our best option at this point that's interested in us (maybe Greek 2.0, but nobody has a darn idea about him). Get over it. We cheer for the same team. You're pretty negative about a lot of things but I don't go around constantly bringing it up.
Back to the transfer question: it's easy to say you plan on getting transfers but whether or not Prohm can actually land Big 12 level transfers remains to be seen. I still think there is a kid or two of high calibur play that ISU will be in the mix for that's a HS senior now outside of Long, so I don't understand why so many people want us to just stop chasing after HS recruits and bank it for transfers that may or may not be there at the middle of the season. People wanted to transfer to ISU because of Fred and that's why we landed guys like Kane, McKat, Burton, Anderson, White, Babb (x2), that Southern Illinois transfer thay never really panned out after high school, and BDJ. Besides, if the transfer market looks weak or there are no Big 12 ready players out there then it does no good.
I don't think the staff has ruled out going after HS players at this point if there is mutual interest but, in reality there isn't a lot of top HS talent available this late. I think I read somewhere there only around 40 top 100 players left uncommitted. Most of those have been recruited for years by coaches and already have a top 5 list. With the staff coming together late in this years recruiting process it was going to be difficult for the staff to get relationships started and land commitments for last remaining 2016 top high school players let alone work their way onto a list in October.
Prohm when hired he stated was going to use all resources available to get players to ISU High School, Junior College and Transfers. I really only see the staff getting involved with late de-committed players out of the 2016 class (ala S. Carter) or Transfers to fill the last 3 (or 2 if Long commits) schollys for needs in 2016 and 2017. These type of players will be starting their recruitment pretty much from scratch thus, the staff will be on a level playing field.
As for if the staff will be able to recruit Big 12 transfers question that well have to see, but I see no reason to doubt Prohm at this point. Remember CFH went into his first season with just as many questions about his recruiting strategy and made it work. TJ was part of the staff thus, is familiar with the blue print on how to get B12 quality transfers to Ames.
