Yes, he would have. He committed more than a YEAR before his father was offered a job. His parents were going to move to wherever he chose to play since they had zero chance of ever seeing him in person while still living in Alaska.
Mario Chalmers went to Kansas because Aaron Miles was going to be graduating so he was pretty much guaranteed to start his freshman year. He committed May 22, 2004 and Mr. Chalmers didnt get hired until June of 2005 when he mentioned to Self that he and his wife were going to be relocating to Lawrence and he was going to look into if there were any opening as a high school coach. And he got hired as Director of Basketball Operation, which is a glorified gopher position. DBO makes sure that the road hotel has the right video equipment, coordinates meals and makes sure they have diet cokes in Self's room.
A top 10 recruit doesnt go to a school because his dad will get to be a low paid errand boy. KU just landed the Lawson boys from Memphis because their dad was demoted to a low paid errand boy position.
Now Danny Manning, thats different. He doesnt end up at KU if Larry Brown doesnt have a long history with his Dad and hire him to be an assistant.

Why the **** does a 5 star go to UNLV. Someone rationalize this for me.
In the college basketball world it is. Sadler made 100k as DBO in '14, a third of what the assistant coaches were paid at the time.A recruit would go to a school because his dad would get a DBO job. That's not a low paying job
We are talking about 2005, not 2017. That was before all the mega-cash of todays conference craziness.Looks like Iowa States DBO got paid $135,000.00 last year. Not bad for an errand boy.
ANYWAYS, I hope you guys hear soon on Juiston. Not sure if he still has visits left to do or not. Best of luck, seems like a fun player.

Sorry, but Chalmers didnt go to KU due to his dad. Manning did but not Chalmers.

Yep. Those are all NBA cities and every NBA city has direct flights to Vegas. Every single one.

C'mon, we all know these are not the type of handlers we're talking about in a recruiting thread. ^^^ That's called support.IMO every kid has a handler. Parents, AAU, HS Coach, Family Friends, Girl Friends, Fellow Tecruits etc. A lot of people have a kids ear and influence where they attend college. A big-time handler doesn't need to be in the picture.

If you were a recruit why wouldn't you take all five of your official visits? You get a sampling of what is out there and at the very least you get to see a little bit of what other parts of the country have to offer. If you have friends on a team you visit it is a bonus.Something about this recruitment process seems really weird to me. There seems to be a new school involved every week. First DePaul, then RI, then...??? Either Juiston doesn't want to come here or his handlers don't want him to come here.
Because it would make cyfan mad. That's the only reason I can come up with.If you were a recruit why wouldn't you take all five of your official visits?
I took a high school college visit day to go to Iowa City and I had to pay my own way. I had zero intention of going to the u of i but I did have a friend of the female persuasion there who made the whole trip worth while.Because it would make cyfan mad. That's the only reason I can come up with.
That's a trip worth taking.I took a high school college visit day to go to Iowa City and I had to pay my own way. I had zero intention of going to the u of i but I did have a friend of the female persuasion there who made the whole trip worth while.
