If TJ thinks we are a 3 guard lineup next season, then I think he takes 2 portal scoring guards this spring.

If TJ thinks Biliew/Watson can play 32+ minutes at the 3, then I think we go guard and an offensive minded post. I like the post group of T. King, Ward & Jones- but they might struggle to score 20ppg between the group even with extended minutes.

Here’s how I see it.. I believe only one of Jones/Ward will be here next season. Just an assumption, not based on any info. Eli has a ? because of the rumors some have said about him moving on.

Lipsey
True Shooter (Transfer)
Wing scorer (Transfer)
Omaha
Center (Transfer)

Williams
Tre King
Watson
Jones?
Milan
Ward?
King?
Hamilton
Fish
Milan will be a pure shooter but worry about him being a freshman

Hopefully we have a couple of big splashes in the portal and we’ll be golden. But I agree- we could use 3 starter like transfers.

Fran on the broadcast on Saturday seemed high on Tre King and said something to the effect of “watch out” next year but I still think he’s a bench player and if he could give us 8 and 6 night in and night out off the bench it would be great

I think King showed flashes of starting talent..Tough way to come into the season the way he did. I'd like to see us go big next season at times..Williams, transfer guard, King, OB, and a transfer C.

What are the general prospects of Hamilton and Fish?
I just punched some of Hamilton's vids up a couple nights ago. I'm not sure how he isn't a top 100. Really strong, athletic, plays above the rim, good handles, and passes well. Could be a surprise in that class kinda like Watson was this year. He looks ready to my eye.

Fran thinks he’ll be a 12 and 8 guy.

I'm really amazed that after a player had mental health issues and mentioned on his post he noticed how others talked about him... We still have people in this board attacking individual players. Disappointing
Jones is not great but he is the best option we have at backup center. Every player misses some easy layups and turns it over, not just Jones. Jones is a decent defender and rebounder.

Agree with this 100%. Jones is not a smooth player, but he is exactly what this team needs in the post. Jones & Osunniyi are our Yin & Yang post.

If I were to grade Jones for the entire season- he would be a D on offense and a B on defense. But he had games like yesterday where I would have graded him a B+ on offense:

3-5 from field
2 assists/1 turnover
1 ORB
1-3 FT (His only negative)

Jones is a better player his senior year vs. his junior year. IMO with his work ethic and energy he will be a better player next season.

I've thought that, but he has played pretty well lately except for the atrocious free throw shooting. As long as he never, ever tries to create while double teamed, he's ok. If he does try to force things, its a sure rebound and fast break for the opponent. If he could get his free throw shooting up to above 60% and remembers his limitations he might be valuable.

Repeating but this is the deal for about everyone although RJ's turnovers tend to get magnified a bit. Seems like the team just does better when everyone stays in their lane, and if get out of that, it can get bad quickly.

I don't know how you can watch that Baylor game and say he's a D2 player. He might not be a P5 starter, but come on now.
Yep, and we know for a fact that he will continue to work all summer to get better. May not have the physical gifts, but he does everything humanly possible to keep getting better.

I loved having true classic pgs like Monte, then Haliburton, and now Lipsey.

But I also won’t be surprised if we see big men play the role in half court. ISU already had a couple not that long ago and it’s a trend in the nba and internationally.

I’m not sure how he’ll defend but I wouldn’t by shocked if Milan is the best offensive player next year. Will be shocked if he’s not the best shooter.

He’s at least very long for a college wing player so that’s something.

If Ward, Jones and King come back, you have the start of a pretty good front court. Then you add Omaha, Momcilivic and Fish. Watson can swing to the 4 if necessary too. If Ward or Jones are gone, then you definitely need a 5 from the portal. Might need one either way. They absolutely need some back court help. Our guards get worn down during the season and we've seen what an injury to one guy can do.

I think Ward could make a big leap to serviceable starting center if he sticks around.
...If Ward, Jones and King come back, you have the start of a pretty good front court..."

Whoa, haven't heard this. Is the Ward transfer rumors picking up momentum?
