The pictures I had seen of her made me think she was built more like that tall girl from Michigan State that we played against in the Sweet 16 a few years ago. If she was built like Prins, I would think she already has a little bit of weight on her bones.

I think you are right on body types, does seem more like the MSU gal. Prins has the build to get more physical inside but it's not her style (or nature IMHO). Hoping Anna can stay healthy (no more injuires or illness this year) and have a great senior year.

Have we had any home-schooled kids in the BF era other than Whit? She didn't exactly flame out, either. She transferred after two years, but she was a decent contributor while she was here.

I thought we had had a couple more over the years but for the life of me I can't remember their names. Regarding, Trapp and her body type, she is probably more like DeHann than Prins. But, she can move and jump better than either DeHaan or Prins could. In all the games that I have watched Savanna play she moves very well and blocks a lot of shots with her long arms and jumping ability. Remember, that she can dunk the ball and has some very good post moves. Playing with North Tartan she has got the chance to play against some of the best bigs in the country in her age group and has pretty well held her own. We are going to need several bigs in the next couple of seasons so I do hope Taylor had a great time. After next year we have Hallie, Maddie, and Jordan in the post and we need several more if we are going to survive in the Big 12. Has anyone heard if Klara Bradshaw from Texas is going to take visit to Iowa State soon?

I have garnered this gem off the OU board on Klara:

There is a girl down here(Texas), whom I had at my bb camp 3 years ago (& I told Sherri about her) whom is now going to be a Sr,& her name: Klara Bradshaw, Emory Rains HS (Emory Tx.) Great kid, bu tis somewhat of a project. Good HS coach, but arrogant AAU coach. She is about 6'5", decent at everything, gret at nothing...but she does have decent skills & great size!

boy, if you think some people on thecyclonefanatic board are tough on BF and crew, you should read what they say about Sherri and her staff....ouch

Buckley is a 2013 recruit..

Speaking of Buckley... This excerpt comes from Kevin Anderson's blog. He covers mostly Minnesota Girls basketball and the summer AAU clubs and tournaments throughout the midwest.

This is the 25th part to the Summer season that was 2012 PLAYER OF THE YEAR
This was a close call, but the nod this summer goes to (drumroll)
Jadda Buckley of All Iowa Attack Jensen. Buckley was a consummate point guard throughout the summer. With Buckley at the helm AIA Jensen beat North Tartan Coury twice. The dramatic moment of the summer came when Buckley went down with what looked like a game ending injury late in the game at the Meltdown championship and AIA Jensen clinging to a narrow lead. After a few minutes out of action, Buckley returned to the court and withstood the NTC heat. Her presence lifted her teammates and they rose to the occasion to knock off the hosts.
Buckley was consistent all summer with four trench player awards, and three times a member of the 31 club. Already she claimed the Distributor of the Year honors (for the second straight year). She is the first player since I started covering the summer season to take more than one major award at the end of summer.
Buckley is the third player from Iowa to get the Player of the Summer award. The last was Kiah Stokes in 2010

sort of surprised and disappointed. Big 12 has a lot of tall posts, and we needed the height with Anna graduating.

I had heard that we were not recruiting her any longer. I saw her play this summer and she was VERY VERY limited offensively and her lack of strength would have been a major issue in the Big 12.

I think sometimes people get a little caught up with impressive high school numbers or how they look coming off the bus. Watching them in the summer is the true test because they are going up against much better competition. This coaching staff knows what they are doing.

You don't always need 6' 8" to be good. I'd love a 6'4" post that is strong and quick with talent (obviously). A modern version of Welle would def suffice.

Projecting post play from HS to college is more difficult than guard play IMHO. More than anything, I just want a LOT of potential high-quality posts to come to ISU in case some don't pan out. That's what disappoints me the most about this.

Trapp is somewhat a project, but she has a ton of potential. Good luck to her out west.

Could be, as I don't know, but Blue Star had Trapp at #50 in their report, and many think that group knows what they are doing.

And Cori Close at UCLA is no slouch of talent evaluation, given all her recruits have been in the ESPN Top 100 so far. Of course that doesn't mean much, but it isn't like Trapp committed to a lower tier school.
