Reporters like Hines with the balls to say the truth are the type or reporters big cities with good teams have.
Exactly. I like a reporter that has balls and isn't afraid to print rumors/speculation

Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

We were departing our hotel in Honolulu a few years ago we checked out of hotel and waited around for hours for a late flight

I think the AD could of scheduled a day tour after checkout and had the hotel hold all the luggage till departure. Kind a sh#tty way to treat the team

The AD doesn't handle scheduling.

All journalist do this because a lot of the people who give this type of information lose their jobs then the journalists lose their sources and in turn their jobs. If you only cover information that anyone can get them well you're kind of worthless as a journalist.

That pretty much sums up my opinion of most journalists.

Exactly, some people are just blind and believe everything JP says. "Shockingly" they are the same people who wanted Otz as HC and were made Leath made JP interview more than one candidate.

I can't begin to tell you how many things are wrong/hilarious about this post.

Good point...

It would be really interesting for a reporter to ask Hoiberg to comment on the article. Big scoop for someone at the ISU Daily...

A coach that loves the town of Ames and Iowa State University does, he obviously cares about his legacy here and how people in his hometown feel about him. You can like jamie and love ISU and not enjoy working for him or feel valued by him all at the same time.

Or he tells Hines not to publish it because it is true but he doesn't want to do that to Iowa State.

No one is going to change your mind due to your hatred for Pollard. Continue on.

Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

Does anyone really think Fred would have admitted any of this was true under any circumstance? That would never happen. He's a professional and loves ISU. His comments shouldn't mean much.

Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

Here's my guess:

There is some truth to the parts about friction between Pollard and Hoiberg, especially about how they touted his pay, possibly about some of the other stuff. The rest was from an ex assistant coach with an axe to grind and/or Hines taking some small complaints from people around the program ("man, it sucked we had to check out and then wait around in the lobby", "I hate having to buy tickets", etc...) and blowing them up as if they were real issues.

Pollard is either extremely jealous of Fred (and Cael), or just plain cheap and has no idea the value of these two icons had to the university. They both should of had the franchise tag bestowed on them

Those ships have sailed

Our hope is for Fred to return to ISU in his 50's and becomes our A.D.

What truth though? We have no idea what is true and what is not, except we know they were not forced to sleep in a hotel ball room. JP told the radio people how to dispute most of the other claims made and Fred came on and backed him up, so what truth was there in the article that we know for sure was true?

If Fred loves ISU, his best response would be to deny everything.

I love how through all of this, the best people are the ones that come in and say everyone should be ashamed themselves for what they were posting an hour ago. Lol...it's 2015, this is news and journalism. If you don't like it...email ESPN. My opinion can change faster than you can say shuck shuck juice and I'm an American so if you don't like it or if you want to wear a halo and have a constant glow behind you, feel free, but know you suck.

This x 1 trillion zillion kabillion. Those who didn't jump on the FirePollardNow! Bandwagon are just jealous of those who did not hesitate to speak truthiness to power on a semi-anonymous message board. #LOOSERS

Maybe the sources are posting on CF and can further enlighten us?

It's like when you accidentally click "send" on an email read by thousands of people before it's finished, not that I've ever done that....

Oct a huge month for NBA coaches as exhibition games start later in the month. I doubt Fred will be around to comment on this article

Um he was just on KXNO and refuted the article.

The fact that he took time to publically address it is enough for me. It's the action he took that he didn't need to.

So, are you saying Fred's comments mean less than those of 'unnamed sources'? Fred put his name on his, the sources didn't have the balls.
