Regarding Brackins

I don't think Gilstrap is ready but if he needs ther money I'd bolt. He has a lot of work to do but he has NBA talent I think.

Gilstrap is the one case of player who I think benefits coming back at his age. He's old enough where he doesn't get any benefit in draft position from "potential" if he comes out this year. He has enough things to work on that he'd almost automatically go to the D league and the $30k he'd make in the D league doesn't make much of a dent in any money needs.

I just don't see Gilstrap getting the extra year from the NCAA, so while he sits around waiting for the ruling he is missing out on time he could be getting better and preparing himself for the draft. I wouldn't be willing to take that chance with the NCAA.

I wonder if Craig wouldn't fit in perfectly on a team in the late first round, where he's not expected to come and dominate, but has talent around him where he can contribute.

I thought this, too, until I looked at the projected draft order this year, after taking trades into account:

24 - Minnesota
25 - Atlanta
26 - Memphis
27 - New Jersey
28 - Orlando
29 - Memphis
30 - Washington

I think he will go pro, and make a good 6-7th man throughout his career. Does he look like the potential NBA star that people saw last year, now? Not really. But his game hasn't gone anywhere, and his face and shoot style of game will fit in will in the NBA. He is at his best when he is not expected to be in the low post, banging against someone much stronger than him, and in the NBA he can find a niche as a Kurt Thomas or Antonio McDyss (not as good as them, but you get the point) type big man with the ability to shoot in really well from about 15-20 feet.
