Obviously speculation and hearsay but I've heard a rumor going around that Park was shaving points against Texas and got caught.

That would seem to be very, very hard to believe. Because, at the very least, you wouldn’t allow someone who did that to remain on the team, let alone be around the team.

You're joking, right? I mean, the lead in is a pretty nice job of making it look like you legitimately heard that but a guy isn't around the facility if something like that happens.

Does the person who made up this rumor not understand how point shaving works? Texas was a 5 point favorite.

Players who shave points are on the favored team and usually a large favorite. Example, if you are favored by 20 over Kansas a player shaves points to make sure their team wins by less than 20.

If you are the underdog and are losing intentionally you are just throwing the game.

This thread is plunging into the depths much faster and farther than most. But, it got a fast start.

...so this is weird you brought this up, cause I just heard the same thing today. Heard that he did indeed have an issue, however it was just found out recently that he was shaving points as well. I told the person that told me that, that he was NUTS if he believed his rumor to be true. Just weird that you posted that.

***DISCLAIMER - I don't believe this to be true, just thought it was weird that someone else brought it up. When I heard it, I actually came here first, cause I figured it would be brought up here.

Maybe Baker Mayfield was shaving points. And the entire OU Team/Coaching Staff

Lol Jacob Park didn't shave point off the Texas game. You dont passionately get into an argument with the head coach .....on the side line....mid game, and shave points.

Now if you were to say Jay Cutler has tossed a few games...sure his body language supports that.

I have no idea about the status of Park. But I do know that he was 2-2 as the starter and Kempt + a little Joel Lanning are 2-0 with one win at #3 and another 45-0 drubbing of a bad team.

We've averaged almost 42 ppg without him. I hope everything is okay with him but I don't think his status will make or break this team for the rest of the year IMO.

Hopeful he gets whatever he has going on off the field figured out and settled. I'm happy with the quarterback play since hes been away but there is a reason he began the year as the starter. I think he has a lot of potential with this offense.

ONLY 25?

So does that mean that the fanbase has collectively put Park in the rearview mirror and think Kempt is an otherworldly football god?

I think the rest of us are assuming we will hear something when there is something to hear, instead of act like Bart Simpson

I think Kempt is a little limited on what he can do as far as passing down the field. Clearly doesn't have the arm Park did. Maybe ISU will be fine with Kempt. It helps a lot that ISU has a lot of very good skill players around him and that the defense has suddenly figured out that stopping teams on 3rd down is a good thing.
