I cannot believe anyone would have anything negative to say about Austin Arnaud. The man fought wars out there on the field, anybody's turf he didn't care. Infact, he has been a mentor to a lot if not "all" the younger classmen coming into the program. AA is truly an iron man! Not just physically, but also in his heart. If anybody thinks "...thank God he's out, now let's see wht JT can do..." Just remember this... The only reason we STILL have something to play for, is because of Austen Arnaud. Sure it was a team effort. And any combination of the other 10 players on the field were busting their *** because AA made it fun out there... He made the other players WANT to play for him. Me personally... "if" we end up in a bowl game, I pray that Austen Arnaud will have recovered enough to at least run out on to that field one last time, and take a snap. (shotgun... draw play, whatever) He deserves what he has earned!

Wouldn't that be awesome? If nothing else, lay the smack down on Missouri, and bring AA in to take a knee on the last play. That would be legendary

I actually kinda hope if he can walk, we stick him out there for the first snap of senior day and let him take a knee if he can. Let him go out the right way.

My guess however is Austen wouldn't prefer that because it'd "hurt the team".

AA will go down in cyclone football history as leading this team to a bowl victory. He wasn't the best passer in the world, nor runner. But he always gave everything he had and that was obvious.

I loved watching him run the ball. He was our best short yardage back for 3 years. He was also great at leading the team and made some great comebacks during his career. He was always struggling with injuries, yet played almost every game.

I've been a big critic of AA. But i just want to say that he clearly did the best he could and made plays often when we needed it. Without him, we wouldn't have gone to a bowl game last year, or been in a position to be in one this year.

thanks for being a cyclone Austen

Sad for his injury, but this is just a small part of what Austen will do in his life. I'm sure he will go on and accomplish great things. He is a passionate person, and good leader.

Regarding AA taking a knee in a bowl victory to end the game... Given the opportunity, I think he's such a class act that he would refuse saying that Jerome earned it and that this is the new era... Still I was fantasizing about the same thing and seeing him take one more snap.

I also really like the idea of Austen taking a knee on the final play of the Missouri game and getting carried off the field. The guy is a class act and you'd be hard pressed to ever find a more dedicated Iowa Stater / Ames young man.

I hope the coaches and players dedicate their whole week of practice and the game to Austen Arnaud. Let him go out for the coin toss while the whole stadium chants "Austen, Austen, Austen..."

Maybe this is too much but I don't think so as this kid is special and deserves it. This is certainly not to take away anything from Tiller who is our heir apparent for the QB job. I'm thnking that he will be proud to see Austen honored as his final day in the limelight for Iowa State. We can give Tiller his fair due and even carry him off the field when and if he performs well in our bowl victory! If he wins the Missouri game for us then let's carry both him and Austen off!

And another thought... with bowl elgibility on the line, this Missouri game could be it. We need to really 'pack the Jack' as if this IS our bowl. Anybody who would make the extra effort to make the bowl game should be at this game. This team, this coach, the coaching staff, and Austen deserve no less from us fans.

Thank you Austen.

This may sound corny..but I wish us fans could do something for the guy. He's put in so much effort to represent the school we all love so much. Just can't say enough about the guy...I look up to that kid and I'm 33.
