Other than the fact that people throughout and around the program still think extremely highly of him? Some people just have that personality trait that draws people to them. TJ sounds like he could be one of those people.
Curious how this trait apparently is now only recognized in Ames, Iowa. One would think it would be universal. You think KU and Baylor are worried about a TJ ISU squad?

Apropos of nothing, I find it fascinating that so many think Jamie Pollard uses the same logic and decision-making processes as my 4-year-old. I suppose it’s possible...

To be honest at the hire of Drew and the first few years I don't think anyone thought that was a great hire either. But, now look at them.

Nor am I, just being realistic. The TJ fanboys have driven me to this place. TJ isn't being mentioned for any other jobs, let alone Minnesota, which is the tell. We aren't grabbing some hot commodity like Campbell was. Was TJ even a candidate for Washington when that job opened up? If not, why not?
It was known a month ago that TJ was replacing Prohm. I don’t care for Pollard’s deflection. I don’t have a problem with the hire but I do have a problem with Pollard not completely owning it and how it went down.

Obviously everyone hopes TJ will be successful, and I will support him and the program going forward, but I think Pollard messed up by releasing that video. He fumbled this "search". If TJ was the guy, just say TJ was the guy. Why release a 9 minute video with half truths? I'm sure he's not happy of the report out of Vegas exposing that this was already done. He's got a lot riding on TJ being successful, if he's not he's in some hot water
Not with this crowd. TJ fever has swept the group that matters. Empiricists? Pffft. We don't know nothing. Landing the guy that nobody else is chasing, and that his current fans and apparently media want to dismiss, is a real accomplishment. Just sit back and cheer mindlessly.

Just wait until he struggles. Same crowd will be angrily defensive, even more wildly toxic than the last couple of Prohm years.

If TJ is indeed the guy, what evidence could you show that he didn't?

That's my thought. Gonna look a whole lot like the McDermott years is my guess. He got talent too, couple NBA picks on the same team. How did they do again?
McD made mistakes and they cascaded. In part because of not having the high major experience. Also because he couldn’t get a pg. Yes, part of that was his coaching and his rigidity not being a bad fit for this level

But if TJ is the coach that McD is, it’ll be a decent hire. It doesn’t take a good coach to get some wins here- Morgan and Prohm put together seasons that had wins. It’s consistently winning that requires a good coach
