What an underwhelming hire, hoping for the best!
What an underwhelming attempt to get the best hire! But frankly JP doesn’t know how to differentiate for basketball reasons, so unlikely damage was done. Budget, weekend “fit” are home runs with TJ.

He was in the worthy of consideration pool and could be the best.

It just seems obvious to me there wasn't any effort put into a search.

Sounds like Johnny Orr’s Coaching Career at Iowa State. Barely above .500 overall. With around 40% winning percentage in Conference. Generally finishing 5th or 6th in an 8 team Conference. Occasionally having better teams. Never winning a Conference Tournament. But Love Johnny. Always Will.
When he loses in a National Championship, then you can compare him to Johnny Orr!:rolleyes:

One positive of the hire now is the process of getting players to follow from the prior spot and retaining players in Ames can start.

Sometimes the fit is what works for the program to reach its potential so we'll see how it goes.

Waiting for the "just did a podcast about TJ being hired" or "just wrote this article about the new ISU basketball coach" like it was some big mystery and people had to scramble to throw those things together.
