What Royce's ball handling skills mean is that oponents will have a difficult time applying full court man pressure. Royce can bring the ball up against the other team's big easily.
New rule this year? Using explosives in a basketball game seems unfair. Those valuable court-side seats are going to be pretty dangerous. Might want to go with upper deck this year.
We're going to run and he gives us another guy that can push the pace. We don't have to try to find one or two guys to get the ball to after a rebound. Nearly the entire team can handle the ball in a fast break situation. This is less about RW handling the point in a set offense and more about options during a break after a rebound. And, has been stated before, RW can be a ball handling option when being pressed. We may be nearly impossible to effectively press.
I hope you are wrong about Railey. I think he's going to prove a lot of naysayers wrong. He was just a true freshmen last year.
I agree with you 100%. Fred runs alot of NBA sets already and White will give us a look like the sets Cleveland and Miami ran with Lebron James. In fact I compare Royce to a poor-man's Lebron James. If Royce can be consistent with a mid to long range jumper, that pulls his man out and Royce can put it on the floor, penetrate and dish or score it himself. But the man staple will likely be Royce with alot of pick-n-rolls
I like Railey also. He just needs more time to develop. Lord knows we need the big body.

agree. Hopefully he can put the off the court issues behind him. His size is something you just can't teach, and the coaches obviously see something in him.

from what I heard, given the choice between Railey and Godfrey, the coaching staff would pick Railey every time, despite the better numbers that Godfrey put up during his freshman year.
Ehhh...we'll see how it goes in B12 play. My guess is RW would find himself with alot of offensive fouls and TO's. I'd rather see him using his passing skills from the block.
This team is going as far as the defense will take it. Whoever we have at point is going to be out of position or inexperienced. We have some pieces to be better than we've been in the half court, but we are going to have to get out and run to have the special kind of year we all anticipate. We have some size to hopefully rebound more consistently, and we'll try to run off any rebound or turnover we can get. It will be interesting to see if we turn up the pressure on D now that we have some depth. We've got the depth and the horses to turn it into a track meet, hopefully we find some meat to slug it out with teams like A&M.
I agree. I think Booker is going to be a key player. We need someone other than Royce to really board up. There's going to be nights where we're on fire from threes but there's also going to be nights when it seems like everyone is off. And we're going to need guys who can get us second chances on nights like that.
