Would it be acceptable to rush the field at an away game?

Now a days I would say no - I agree with another poster who said it brings us down to their level.

I have to admit though - I have rushed the field a few times both at Jack Trice and at away games. Two of the more memorable times. #1. In Iowa City after beating the Hawks 10 - 7 in 1980. It was a tough game and after Alex Gifford kicked a field goal to go ahead (I think he had missed 3 previous attempts) the Cyclones held Iowa from scoring on it's final possession and as time expired we rushed the field and tore down the goal posts. They were wood at that time and for a long time I kept a piece of it for a sovenier.

#2. After the first Insight bowl in 2000 I took my wife and two small boys down on the field to celebrate the victory with Coach Mac, the players and many other Iowa State fans. It was a great time. Some of the fans were tearing up pieces of sod for soveniers. I remember seeing an Iowa State fan wearing a large piece of sod on his head walking around the concourse after the game.

I think the Golden Rule kind of applies here. I would be really angry (and probably angry drunk) if they rushed Jack Trice. Therefore, I will not rush the field if we pull the upset this year at Kinnick.

I think it's in very poor taste to rush an opponent's field to tear down their goalposts. That being said, you can't tear Iowa's down anyway - Kinnick has some kind of latch system that allows their stadium crew to collapse their goal posts as soon as the game is over anyway.

I'm for it. Run down on the field, heckle a few players, see if you get punched in the face... sounds like a positive experience to me.
