Well...I can't hear the song Mack the Knife and not think of Sam (oh the irony)

But guy went on to have a nice college and pro career considering.....let the guy be. Good for him....man paid his debt.

And yeah...little odd trolling former players linkedin pages. How do you even think of that?

I wondered what he was up to and googled him. It's one of the first things that came up.

I saw him beat Grayer one on one at Johhny Orr's Basketball Camp when I was a kid. One of my greatest Cyclone memories.

There can't be too many other basketball camp operations that have between 1001 and 5000 employees.

I like Sam Mack. And I think it's cool he played basketball so late in life. He represents something about the history of Ames to me like a lot of former cyclones do. I would happily write a less desperate and sad linked in page for him if he wanted. Hell, I would be behind bringing him back to Hilton and hugging it out with Cyclone Nation. But I do think it makes way more sense to tease a 40 something former Cyclone about his poorly worded work history than it does to rip on our current underclassmen while they develop their skills in from of us.
Yes, because making fun of Sam Mack is the only alternative to criticizing current players. :jimlad:

Also I forget that some people look down on people who need more work. Those of us that have been laid-off multiple times have more of a sense of humor about it.

That's cool, r u gonna post your linkedin so we can compare and contrast?

I could use 2,500 views. And I would really like Cyclone Nation to know about my work at this museum dedicated to the pacemaker. I brought almost every conversation I had there around to Fred and the relationships between creative innovation strategies and his free flowing offense.

This thread reminded me I have a Linkedin account. Probably haven't updated for at least 2 years.

Sam lived in the same dorm as me. The guy was a super talented basketball player, but he was kind of a tool. Often after dinner when everyone was returning to there dorm rooms, the elevators would be in high demand. Sam would often be riding the elevators like everyone else. When he was on the elevator liked to like to be in charge of the buttons. As the elevator got full, the doors would often not close indicating someone was in the way of the doors. Sam would then tell some kid that they needed to get off because the elevator was too full and someone would. As the doors closed, Sam would be chuckling to himself, because he had been hitting the door open button and had tricked some kid into getting off the elevator. Dude was like a little kid. It never seemed to get old.

I read every message, and I still don't see why this is funny or sad. What's funny or sad about a guy trying to make something of himself?
