I think the post was perceived wrong by many. There is cautiousness and some hope.
The concerns largely revolve around those that wonder IF the changes will be enough. The scheme is going to remain the same (they’ve been told) so the comments I hear (via texts) were questioning if Nate will have much more leeway to change things up in game given where the instructions have come from. As one said “An OC needs to be more than coordinator in title” and it’s a legit concern in if that will be the case. Some of the players have had one on ones and have had mixed promises on direction.
Example of concern - How certain positions are utilized - TEs and RBs primarily, as well as if QB rollouts and mobility will be allowed.
I’ve also heard a few that are ecstatic and think things will improve without hesitation.
After that kind of year for the offense, I would think it would be fairly normal to be both skeptical of a change that may not be a huge one and also a bit insecure about how they might fit into that change.
An offense that grinds away time (while scoring somewhat consistently) isn't revolutionary at all, but has been proven an effective way to win games. I think it could provide significant change though, with just a touch more aggression and unpredictability. And of course, execution.
Like any situation, I think the players will have to see those changes in action to get totally on board with them. That's pretty normal.
