Annoying old people who have time to complain also have no interest in the game enjoyment of others. They donate $500 a year and somehow think that entitles them to a say. "They'll thank me later when they haven't lost their hearing with this darn rap music."

In my section (4) the old people pay more attention to the game than the younger people and they stay until the end of the game unlike the younger people. The problem is they need speakers in the south endzone area so the sound is spread more evenly throughout the stadium.

My boy (4-1/2) totally freaked out with the volume from the Tulsa game. I got him hearing protection earmuffs from Sportsmans Warehouse on the way home from that game, and he wore them this week. He lasted all the way through the game, and even ditched the muffs for the 4th quarter.

We're in Section B (upper NW corner) and right there in the path of the speakers, so it was probably worse for us last game than it was for 75% of the fans. I agree that the sound needs to be distributed through multiple points, but I also agree that this week could have been louder. Maybe split the difference between the 2 games for the TxTech game & see what happens?

Either that or crank jams like this one:

I didn't notice the sound being quieter, but maybe it was. I think what they need to do is turn it up and then sell Cyclone earplugs for a couple of bucks.

When they introduced the players on the field from the volleyball and basketball teams I couldn't hear a word the announcer said. I'm just now finding out that we upset Nebraska.... Seriously...turn it up again. It's like only taking your new Ferrari around the Hy-Vee parking lot. Open it up and lets see what she can do! Maybe the only problem was the Beef commercial?

They need to find the happy medium between Tulsa and last night. Tulsa was far too loud and last night was too quiet.

And I can only assume the people who say, "crank it as loud as possible!" are the same douchebags stuck at 16 when sunwoofers and amps are the coolest thing ever and blast ****** music for everyone to hear.

The sound system should never drive people away. They're going to see a football game, not a rock concert.

Money talks and BS squawks. The people that donate big money obviously told Jamie the volume was out of control. Perhaps a happy medium can be found. I for one, am definitely over 30, donate $, and do not care to be blown totally out of the stadium by noise pollution. It is also nice to be able to hear the PA announcer.

But why can't there be "in game" adjustments. It was pretty good for commercials, case red zone, etc, but crank it for touchdowns and sweet caroline. It has to have a volume control that doesn't require pre programing, right?

I did notice that it was noticeably quiter-maybe because blood wasn't oozing from my eardrums and my eyeballs were still in their sockets as opposed to last game.

Honestly, you can never have enough volume for a football game. The louder, the better.
I love leaving games with my ears ringing, both from the crowd noise AND the loud speakers. I want noise, I want volume, I want craziness, I want mayhem, I want freakin loud music, and I want it louder!!!!

...this coming from a guy who has already lost some hearing because I love lots of volume.

For people who think its too loud, bring in those little foam ear plugs. But, if its too quiet, there's nothing you can do. Always error on the side of "too loud" for a football game, never the opposite. It takes away from the atmosphere.
I fully agree with this, but I think it depends on what kind of loud the sound system puts out. If it is a booming loud, that is a very good thing. A shrieking loud is not, and the sound system has put out a shrieking loud at times. The shrieking loud problems do need to be resolved within the stadium, and turning down the volume is not the solution.

It was perfect last night in Section E. Tulsa game honestly was ridiculous. Upper deck gets it alot worse than lower deck. It was 100x better last night.

I had a little trouble at times from the SE hill. Wife thought the system was fine, but her hearing isn't destroyed from years of loud hobbies and work.

Until they find a better way to distribute the sound, AKA more speakers throughout the stadium, this situation won't ever be resolved.

If you sit in the upper deck, north end--you are right in line with the speakers and it was deafening during the Tulsa game -especially the intro. If you were anywhere else in the stadium it might have be just right. It is my understanding (please correct me if I am mistaken) that the sound is only coming from the north end. To be LOUD at the south end -it’s going to have to be over-the-top loud at the north end. So I can understand those disappointed with the volume this week. Since I sit Upper Deck NW corner -- I thought it was just right. However I did venture down to SW corner hillside and the sound was lacking. Yes, the Western IL band did play over Sweet Caroline from that vantage point!

I think Jamie is going to have to do some thinking on how to fix this. Speakers blaring from one end IMHO is not the answer to make the experience great for everyone.
