I love Barkley.

It's his skepticism of blue bloods that makes it possible for him to see what is actually happening on the floor. Far too many analysts never get past the ranking or seed number ahead of the name.
Other analysts obsess over NBA talent on a team rather than the team as a whole, as evidenced by their Nevada picks.

And those commercials with Samuel Jackson and Spike Lee are an absolute hoot. I always remember the one from last year where Jackson and Lee were thinking up a new nickname for Chuck - the best one was "The Round Mound of Sit-around".

The obvious favorite is when they are driving and Samuel L. Jackson points out the fact that they are in Annapolis, instead of Indianapolis.

There were reasons to pick Nevada as a hot team, there really weren't many reasons to pick ISU to lay an egg. Senior team and probably hottest team in CBB or definitely top 3 hottest team.

When you have the crazy obvious Minn-MTSU matchup where MTSU was actually favored by Vegas...dude sucks at predicting basketball.

Nobody wants to hear all the "analysts" simply talk chalk. There has to be something to generate "buzz". I prefer my unbiased ISU analysis with a healthy dose of homer ala FranF.

Charles only follows college hoops a few weeks a year...but still can make better points than some of these guys who cover it year round. Plus he isn't obsessed with blue blood programs like the typical college hoops media guys.

Helps he went to Auburn, which is really only a quasi-blue blood even in football. Definitely not basketball.

I don't think Bilas ever picked Nevada. He has us in the S16.

On TV, Bilas always stated he was picking Nevada over us, so unless he changed at the last minute I don't think this is correct.

Bilas in analyzing our game with Nevada also said that Oliver was an NBA player, which I agree with, and he also said that Marcus Marshall would end up being a PG in the NBA too, but said nothing about our guys.

Hmmm... here's Monte's stats vs. Marshall's last night....

Morris- 19 pts, 8 rebs, 8 assts.
Marshall- 16 pts, 4 rebs, 5 assts.

Oh, and Monte played 9 fewer minutes in the game too.

Eat that Bilas! Take your NBA Nevada players, and ride the bus home with them back to Reno.

i don't care what some talking head says about us. He hasn't watched us all year so his opinion is nothing that bothers me at all.

I will say this though.......did you ever think you would hear 'depth' and 'ISU Mens Basketball' in the same sentence. I remember a couple of those Johnny Orr teams that would go 6 deep, maybe.

You hear it all the time: ISU has no DEPTH.

The knucklehead himself Charles Barkley seemed to be the only guy pointing out that Nevada probably only played a couple opponents that were similar to ISU's caliber all year.

I agree! I was yelling the same thing at my television screen before ol' knucklehead said that at halftime. "Welcome to the big league wolf pack! We play big boy basketball in the Big12!" And its true. Nevada is a good team that I think could have beat Minnesota or Notre Dame and gave Virginia a run for their money just like UNCW did. However, ISU is by far the best team they have seen all year. All the things they did well that were supposed to make them a force to reckon with, we do those things better.

Don't forget about Jay Bilas. He was touching his toes and packing that wolf just like Davis. Keep placing those collect calls boys because nobody is answering until they see you in Phoenix! Love those chipped shoulders!!
