If a person doesn't understand how his analysis is amazingly stupid then I assume that person is also amazingly stupid

So the ISU wins over Arkansas and Alabama are enough to put ISU ahead of Maryland despite the fact that Maryland, you know, BEAT ISU? I don't really care one way or the other, I just understand where Davis is coming from in his logic to put ISU below Maryland. The same people who think it's ridiculous that Maryland be above ISU were probably complaining about TCU being above Baylor even though Baylor won the head to head meeting. Bizarro.
I thought I smelled cabbage. Tuco is here.

Tuco doesn't look very closely at things.

ISU has good wins against Georgia State, Arkansas, and Iowa. Add in a decent win against Bama.

Maryland has a good win against ISU and a decent win against Arizona State.

That doesn't even start to discuss how the way ISU played in that game is the exception to the rest of the season. I guess Stanford deserved to be ranked higher than Kansas at the end of last year.

There's only a marginal difference between their resumes except for the one glaring difference which is that Maryland beat Iowa State head to head on a "neutral" court which was 90% ISU fans.

Well, Iowa State has something Maryland doesn't: a true road win against a power 5 team that also owns a true road win over another power 5 team in the top 25. I'd say that stands out a bit considering how difficult it is to win on the road against power 5 opponents. It also helps that particular power 5 team was receiving votes for the top 25 as well.

Basketball is a completely different monster than football. With the shorter schedule, the AP has every right to be more reactive in football. Basketball, up until February, is more about who looks the part until they get closer to the tournament. I would also say that Iowa State would beat Maryland on a neutral site floor more often than not, especially once Iowa State has all of its contributors available. That is why they are ranked higher, but that could just be the homer in me speaking.

A team can lose by 30 to anyone and be in the top 10? Explain that logic.

You both suck.

I like when voters vote based on what has happened rather than what they think might happen. They beat us on a neutral court. Until they lose again or we do something special I have no problem with them being ahead of us. I don't consider beating Iowa as special on a national ranking level. I'm not convinced Iowa is very good at all. I watched the UNC game and both teams looked like Drake.

I wouldn't say that their resume's are only marginally different. MD beaten only 1 other team in the top 150. That is a key number for the committee and for the pollsters. They have played a grand total of 3 teams in the top 150. Barely beat 3 150 plus teams, And got to prepare primarily for ISU the whole month before they played them.

ISU on the other hand has played 3 teams in the Top50 and 5 teams in the top100, and blown out everyone else. And had 2 top 100 teams right before the played MD.

On the whole ISU's resume is considerably better. And they ISU had 2 guys puking the day they playd head to head. Its an easy decision for just abou everyone except Seth and troll coach, two people who have been very wrong about ISU basketball very often.

You guys have dogged Iowa all year and now they're a "good win"? Too funny. They are barely in the RPI Top 100 and will be well out of it once they start losing nightly in the Big Ten. I'll bet Iowa has seven losses by the end of January. Georgia State has ONE win against teams in the RPI Top 150 and it was against Green Bay, who I still can't figure out how they are in the RPI Top 100 let alone Top 5. Arkansas? OK. But isn't a win over Iowa State more impressive than a win over Arkansas?

Maryland lost at home to #6, ISU lost neutral to #17. ISU has better resume outside of those games. Maryland's next best win is Arizona State who is not as good as Iowa, no matter how bad Iowa turns out to be, not to mention that was a neutral game to ISU's road game without two of the top six players. Plus Arkansas. Easy choice IMO.
