Neighbors who put their trash cans out a while ago are going to be disappointed in the morning.

If it has hints of skunk, then that air is probably coming more from the Denver area, not so much kansas...
I guess maybe THEY won’t be disappointed, but someone will be.
No sleep for me tonight. Wind and our giant A frame windows don't allow me to sleep. I just lay there waiting for them to shatter.
The good news about waking up to a bunch of trash in your yard tomorrow… at least it’s garbage day.
From our viewpoint, SW MO, the front has not come thru yet (but coming soon - a couple of hours) and it's still warm. Was about 71d today I think. Very nice but windy earlier. Highs tomorrow mid to lower 50's, lows tomorrow night not getting as cold as you guys (mid to low 40's).
After getting hit (not house thankfully) and about 60 trees down in our woods, from a tornado 2.5 years ago, I take weather much more seriously.

Wow, you guys weren't lying. Can really smell the smoke outside.
I had some beer cans piled up so I took them to the recycling bin outside. The smoke smell is crazy, considering it's coming from Kansas. Also, the warm breeze is unreal with it being the middle of December.
My dog refuses to go outside so instead he’s in our bed farting and holding in his dinner. Fun night
My son worked tonight at Michael's in Ankeny. Said they closed up for about 2 hrs and were in the break room. Also they heard that the Sams Club in Ankeny had some damage.
I’m going to guess that we’ll wake up to more damage then we thought.
NWS in Kansas City has mentioned fires in Western Kansas. The smoke smell is very strong here in the KC area too.
