We've been either a barely make the NIT tourney team or FInal Four caliber team all year. Constantly bouncing between both. It sucks but yeah, there is some merit to the OP asking if we are even a tournament team. We surely didn't look like one today nor at the end of the season.

Absolutely. I would have have much rather watched them go winless in conference then see them have multiple top 10 wins and then lay an egg in the tournament

On one hand, this season we had the resume of a tourney team. We absolutely should not have been denied by criteria

On the other hand, the group of guys that showed up to the tournament was without grill, and if we'd been without Grill all year that team doesn't make the tourney.

So there's an argument to be made that *this group of guys* isn't tournament-level without Grill.

One win in the NIT is probably better than getting embarrassed in the tournament by a freaking play-in team.

Maybe if Hinson stayed and didn’t have a grudge against us it could’ve been better.

I thought ISU was pretty much a bubble team before the season started so making it to the tourney was a good accomplishment IMO. Hopefully we'll have some offense next season!

I've considered why Iowa wasn't divided between Minnesota and Missouri. There was really no reason for a separate, small state between the two of them.

Am I a little disappointed? Sure. I was hoping for another 1-2 games. And it sucks going out with a historically bad shooting day.

On the other hand, if you told me when TJ was hired that we’d make the tourney in 2023, I’d have been fine with that. And that’s skipping over a Sweet 16 run, a shitload of wins over ranked/top-10 teams and the B12 being far and away the toughest conference out there.

This staff has done more with less than probably any other ISU coaching staff in recent memory. These last two rosters were priced together with silly putty and duct tape. I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do with top-10 recruiting classes.
